Simply Nature Acai Bowls

Acai berries have grown popular over the last several years. The berries come from acai palm trees that grow in Central and South America. In U.S. grocery stores or cafes, you might see them in the form of a frozen puree, a powder, or a juice. They have plenty of antioxidants and other potential health benefits.

Aldi occasionally sells some single-serving frozen acai bowls that my kids really like. The bowls feature acai with granola and various fruits. They come in two varieties: Tropical, which includes mango and pineapple, or Berry, which includes strawberries and blueberries. Both bowl varieties include a separate container of crunchy granola that can be mixed in with the fruit.

Simply Nature Acai Bowls are currently listed among the spring and summer Seasonal Products on the Aldi website. That means they’re in stores for longer than an Aldi Find, but Aldi does not sell them all year. In this case, Aldi sells these during the warmer months. Aldi does not offer online ordering if these are out of stock at your local store.

We buy products for review with our own money. I paid $2.85 for each 6-ounce bowl in April of 2025. That’s around 48 cents per ounce.

These are a product of Brazil. They’re USDA Organic and are certified organic by IBD. They’re also non GMO. The Tropical flavor is kosher.

These are sold under the Simply Nature brand, which is not a company. That’s the name Aldi puts on many of its organic products, which it sources from various suppliers.

If you’re watching out for allergens, both varieties contain tree nuts (cashews). They may contain milk, wheat, and other tree nuts.

The Tropical acai bowl contains organic acai puree (organic acai, water), organic oat flakes, organic cane sugar, organic mango, organic pineapple, organic tapioca syrup, organic rice syrup, organic brown sugar, organic coconut oil, organic honey, citric acid, organic cashew nuts, organic guar gum, organic fruit and vegetable juice (for color), and xanthan gum.

The Berry acai bowl contains organic acai puree (organic acai, water), organic oat flakes, organic cane sugar, organic strawberry, organic blueberries, organic tapioca syrup, organic rice syrup, organic brown sugar, organic coconut oil, organic honey, citric acid, organic cashew nuts, organic guar gum, organic fruit and vegetable juice (for color), and xanthan gum.

Nutrition information is nearly identical for both the Tropical and Berry acai bowls. One bowl with the included granola topping has 220 calories, 7 grams of total fat (9% DV), 2.5 grams of saturated fat (13% DV), 5 mg of sodium (0% DV), 25-39 grams of total carbohydrates (14% DV), 2 grams of dietary fiber (7% DV), 17 grams of total sugars, 16 grams of added sugars (32% DV), and 4 grams of protein.

The bowls have directions for serving. Remove the granola cup on top. Then thaw the cup for 5-10 minutes at room temperature, or microwave it for 10-15 seconds. Stir, top with granola, and enjoy.

As mentioned earlier, my kids love these. The mango/pineapple or strawberries/blueberries are on top of the acai puree, and it’s kind of hard to stir the fruit into the puree, even after letting it sit at room temperature for a while. So, my family usually eats the granola topping and fruit together, and then they enjoy the acai puree underneath. The puree has a slushy texture that everyone likes.

The Berry flavor is my kids’ favorite, but they’ll also happily eat the Tropical flavor.

I wish these had less added sugar, but they’re nice as an occasional treat.

The Verdict:

Simply Nature Acai Bowls are frozen and come in Tropical or Berry flavors. Tropical features mango and pineapple, while the Berry option includes strawberries and blueberries. These all include acai puree and a crunchy granola topping. These are a fun, fruity alternative to other types of frozen desserts or snacks. Do be aware that they have a moderate amount of added sugars.

I wish there was some way to write to aldi and tell them to reduce or eliminate the added sugar. Thank you so much for your reviews they really help me decide what to buy at Aldi.

  2. Love the product. They have dissappeared from the two Aldi stores in my area here in Florida. Have they been discontinued?

  3. My entire family, including all my 11 grandchildren love these and would happily take them over most snacks, so I bought them in bulk. Now I can’t find anywhere to purchase them. I wish Aldi would carry them all year. because my kids would love to have them in the winter as well.
