Simply Nature Dark Chocolate Covered Freeze Dried Strawberries and Bananas

Freeze dried strawberries from Aldi are a popular snack in my house. We eat them straight out of the bag, or sometimes we add them to the strawberry and wheat flake cereal Aldi sells.

Of course, many things taste better when you add chocolate. If you prefer your freeze dried strawberries to be covered in chocolate, Aldi sells those. Aldi also sells chocolate covered freeze dried bananas. These chocolate covered snacks were actually named a 2025 Product of the Year, so I picked some up the other week to see what the hype was about.

Simply Nature Dark Chocolate Covered Freeze Dried Strawberries and Dark Chocolate Covered Freeze Dried Bananas are Regular Buys. That means you should be able to find them at Aldi all year.

We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $3.79 for each 4-ounce package in March of 2025. That’s around 95 cents per ounce.

These are kosher and are verified nonGMO. They’re a product of the U.S.

If you’re looking out for allergens, both of these contain milk and soy. They were processed on equipment that also processes eggs, peanuts, sesame, tree nuts, and wheat.

These have a thick chocolate coating and are quite good. The strawberries are a bit tart, while the bananas are sweet. My family was divided over which one was better. I slightly prefer the strawberries, but your mileage may vary.

If we had any complaints, it’s that these bags are pretty small and don’t last long.

The Verdict:

Simply Nature Dark Chocolate Covered Freeze Dried Strawberries and Bananas feature crispy freeze dried fruit covered in a thick layer of dark chocolate. They were recently named a Product of the Year through a consumer survey. After trying them for ourselves, we can confirm they are delicious.
