Alex’s Lemonade Stand Returns to Aldi For the 6th Year

Alexandra “Alex” Scott was born in 1996. On her first birthday, she was diagnosed with a pediatric cancer. When Alex turned four she took on cancer as a cause, raising $2,000 while fundraising on her lawn. Alex would raise more than $1 million before she died in 2004.

The following year, Alex’s parents co-founded the charity in their daughter’s name, and today Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF) brings in millions in donations every year while also currently receiving a perfect rating on Charity Navigator.

Aldi has partnered with ALSF for six years going: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and now 2024. In a press release, Aldi explains that it will donate $1 million to the charity this year as part of a long-term goal to raise $10 million for ALSF by 2027. Aldi is encouraging shoppers to host their own lemonade stands to raise money and will host its own special stands “in select markets to support local ALSF Heroes, children with pediatric cancer, and their families, while raising shopper awareness of the opportunities to give back.” Aldi has a community page with more information.
