Crofton 15″ Cast Iron Pre-Seasoned Pizza Pan Headed to Aldi

This post is an open thread and contains affiliate links

Pizza is a convenience food I almost always have in my deep freezer. On evenings when my family is busy, it’s easy to pop a pizza in the oven or onto my countertop pizza grill. Pizza is something everyone likes, and when I pair it with a bagged salad kit, I can get dinner on the table quickly and with a minimum of fuss.

Aldi is not only a great store to buy pizza from, but the grocer also sells some pizza-making accessories from time to time. The most recent weekly Aldi ad highlights a cast iron pre-seasoned pizza pan.

What We Know:

Crofton 15" Cast Iron Pre-Seasoned Pizza Pan

The Crofton 15″ Cast Iron Pre-Seasoned Pizza Pan is an Aldi Find, which means it’s in stores for a short time only. Each store should receive one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone until whenever Aldi might decide to bring it back. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.

This is scheduled to arrive in stores October 22nd, 2025.

The pizza pan cost $24.99 in 2025. That’s on the lower end of prices for similar cast iron pizza pans I found on Amazon.

This is sold under the Crofton brand. That’s not a company. Instead, it’s the name Aldi puts on various kitchen products it sells, which it sources from different suppliers.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried this pizza pan, so we don’t know how well it works or how durable it is. Also, Aldi has not shared any details about this pan in its weekly ad, so we don’t yet know any other specifics about the pizza pan. We write open threads like this one to provide readers with a place to talk about Aldi products.

  1. cast iron is excellent for making crispy pizza but keep in mind how heavy it is. I have a 50 year old steel pan that works as good and weighs 12 ounces as opposed to an 8 lb cast iron pan. Just keep in mind if you go with cast iron you are doing heavy lifting with a super hot pan.

    1. Thanks for your reminder of how heavy it is. I have made pizza in my 12″ cast iron skillet, and it was delicious, but not big enough, ha! I also have a steel pizza pan that I like. Normally I use a 15″ pizza stone though, it stays in the oven and I make the pizza on parchment paper to make it easy to transfer to the stone, works fine.

  2. Did anyone else make note on the instructions that came with the pan? “Never heat the pan when empty”. Now, I thought the whole idea of cooking a pizza on a big hunk of metal was to get the metal very hot and then place the pizza on it to get that Pizza Oven style rise and quick cook. I’ve cooked on steel for the 10+ years and you heat that for 15-20 minutes at 450-500 F before putting in the pizza. I thought I’d try the cast iron, until I saw the instruction (inside) after purchase.
