If you’re trying to get your house in shape, you can often find important tools to help you achieve that goal in the middle aisle at Aldi. Whether you’re looking for organizers and shelving to corral your clutter or spray mops and vacuums to get rid of the dirt, Aldi rotates a continuous array of products onto its shelves to help you tame clutter and grime.

One of the more recent items to show up at Aldi is a handheld steam cleaner. I purchased a handheld steam cleaner from Aldi a few years ago, and its performance was so lackluster that I ended up returning it. Aldi is selling another steam cleaner model now. Whether it’s better than the original remains to be seen.

What We Know:

Ambiano Steam Cleaner

The Ambiano Steam Cleaner (Product Code: 709536) cost $19.99 in August of 2023. It comes with several accessories. Many of the handheld steam cleaners I found on Amazon cost at least twice that.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at some point. Aldi doesn’t offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your local store.

Here’s more info about the steam cleaner, according to Aldi:

  • Includes hose, measuring cup, and 6 tools
  • 8-oz. water tank

This is sold under the Ambiano brand, which is not a company. Instead, it’s a private label Aldi uses for certain home goods or kitchen items such as single serve coffee makers, electric griddles, sparkling water and soda makers, and even sewing machines.

What We Don’t Know:

While we have tried an earlier version of an Aldi steam cleaner, we haven’t tried this latest model, so we don’t know how well it works. We write open threads so readers can discuss Aldi products.

  1. Product 709536 is hard to use.
    Is not user friendly
On off switch is not easy
    Compared to Bissell steam cleaner
    Bissell wins
Looks like it could be a good product but repeat is not a user friendly!
No answer when calling after sales support
    On how to use.
    So sad!
I have wasted a productive morning not doing anything but trying to figure out product!

    • I had trouble too but found that you have to push the inside power button and then the larger blue area around the power button. This is also a button that needs to be pushed for it to work correctly.

  2. I am so disappointed I was so excited to buy this steam cleaner and I wanted to clean especially under my toilet seat rim I cannot stand to see the dirt and stuff where the water shoots out in your toilet but I did all the instructions exactly like what it said and nothing no water comes out of the nozzle water however does shoot out around the cap. This is definitely going back. It seems that maybe the cap does not get tight enough to build up the steam needed for water to come out of the nozzle.
    Very disappointed

  3. Directions are pooot. You need to fill 175 then 75ml to fill tank. Screw top on. Plug in and wait until light goes off. Push thumb up then the just underneath the switch, push the oval up simultaneously. It’s not easy. Steam will come for just under a min. Then let sit till light goes off again when steam builds back up. This unit is built solidly! I’m impressed. And it has a great assortment of attachments that can tackle various jobs around the house. Does not do a great job on grout but will use for other projects around the house
