Every once in a while we see something from Aldi that we’ve never seen before. And by never seen, I don’t just mean that we’ve never seen it at Aldi. I mean that we’ve never seen it anywhere else.
To be sure, we’ve seen plenty of appliances that can keep things warm. Crock-Pots and other electric slow cookers come to mind, something Aldi sells regularly. You’ve also got other obvious choices like the oven. In catering, you might see a small gas burner that is used under foil trays to keep food hot.
But something that is advertised as an electric warmer, and nothing else? That we’ve never seen before.
At least, not until December of 2025, when Aldi decided to carry one.
The Ambiano Portable Electric Food Warmer is an Aldi Find. Stores get a single shipment of these, and once they’re sold out, you won’t be able to find them again until they come back. If you can’t track one down in your store, you’re out of luck for now. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.
In 2025, the device came in black, blue, and pink. (I bought the blue one.)
In 2025, the food warmer cost $19.99. There aren’t a whole lot of food warmers on Amazon like this one, so an exact comparison isn’t the easiest. I did spot a few appliances, including a name-brand Crock-Pot Electric Lunch Box, that advertise themselves as both “electric food warmers” and “electric lunch boxes” that retail for $30 to $40, so in that regard this Aldi appliance seems like a good deal.

The food warmer comes with a handle and lid. It also has an inner lid and storage container that can be removed from the warmer.

Here’s more information, according to the box:
- 20-ounce capacity up to the “max” fill line
- Portable, with easy carry handle
- Heat and warm food without using a microwave
- Convenient for office and dormitory use
- Features a leak-proof lid
- Includes an easy-to-clean stainless steel pot
- Comes with a detachable power cord for convenient storage
- Made in China
The food warmer comes with a three-year warranty serviced by Protel, which is a common Aldi warranty service provider. For service, call 1-855-754-8297 or email service-us@protel-service.com.
Unboxing and Using the Food Warmer:

The food warmer comes with the base unit with handle, a top lid, a stainless steel food container with an inner lid with a steam vent, a power cord that plugs into a socket in the base unit, and a user manual.
Before first use, I washed and dried the stainless steel food container and both lids.
The manual specifies this device is not for cooking food. Instead, it’s used to heat food that’s already cooked.
To use, fill the food container with your food, but don’t overfill it. There is a maximum fill line marked on the stainless steel food container. Maximum capacity is about 20 ounces.
Then, attach the inner lid with steam vent. Make sure the steam vent is sealed by pressing down on it. Place the food container inside the base unit and attach the top lid. Rotate the top lid to secure it into place. Insert the connector end of the power cord into the power socket in the base unit. I had to push it with a little force to get it to connect and stay in place. Insert the plug of the power cord into a power outlet. An indicator light on the base unit will light up, and food will begin to warm up. The food warmer will continue to operate until you unplug it.
Once your food reaches the desired temperature, you can unplug the power cord. Rotate the top lid counterclockwise to open it. Pull the steam vent upward to release hot air and steam. (Use oven mitts or potholders if necessary.) Then remove the inner lid from the food container to serve the food.

The manual offers a few tips for use.
- The food warmer needs time to warm up. Start it well in advance of your desired meal time. The required time may vary depending on the food type and the starting temperature of the food.
- Food with little moisture content may dry out if left in the warmer for more than four hours.
- Stirring the food can help to speed up the time it takes to warm the food. It also helps prevent the food from sticking to the bottom of the food container.
- After the initial warmup, you can unplug the warmer and keep all lids on. The product can keep food warm unplugged for up to 2 hours.
- Make sure to bring the detachable power cord along if you want to use the warmer away from home.
- To avoid food spillage, always hold the warmer upright and carry it by the carrying handle when travelling.
Obviously, don’t put the base unit in the dishwasher. However, I think the stainless steel food container could be washed in the dishwasher. I intend to hand wash both lids.
Testing the Food Warmer:

I initially tested the food warmer by heating a can of Spaghettios in it. I checked on the food warmer an hour after I put the Spaghettios in, and they were plenty hot. My canned Spaghettios went into the food warmer at room temperature, and it might take longer if you’re heating food that has come out of the refrigerator.

So far, this looks promising for times when family members might want a hot lunch at work without having to pack food in a traditional thermos.
The Verdict:
The Ambiano Portable Electric Food Warmer is a nice option if you want a hot meal and have access to electricity but not to a microwave or stove. It’s especially good for taking to work or using in a dorm room. We’ll update this review as we continue to use this product, but so far we like it. Recommended.

This is a dupe of the crockpot mini that holds 20oz. We love ours.. it is only intended to reheat, not cook. Great for leftovers and soup right from the can. We would love to have another one so if I can find it at my local Aldi it will definitely go into the cart!
Is this coming to Ireland too. Or is it just in the USA??
We’re not very familiar with what products are available at Aldi in Ireland, as this site focuses on the U.S. Your best bet would be to ask Aldi Ireland. Here’s info on how to contact them: https://www.aldireviewer.com/contact-aldi/
This is just like the CrockPot LunchCrock that we’ve had and used for many years. Our same size LunchCrock is aging (it works just fine but the power cord is getting stiff and pinched), so I bought one of these Ambiano portable food warmers yesterday. I haven’t tried it out yet, but did discover that the inner lids on both are interchangeable — though the LunchCrock lid isn’t snug on this container, so it would be best to use at home — and the LunchCrock container fits into this food warmer’s base.
