Open Thread: Crane Luxe Big Wheel Scooter

This post is an open thread and contains affiliate links.

Aldi is not a place you think of for transportation. I’ve never seen an Aldi bike, for instance, and you’re certainly not going to get a car from Aldi anytime soon. (I think.) We have seen bike accessories over the years, and we do see the occasional kid’s 3-wheel scooter, but not a lot beyond that.

In late 2025, though, Aldi brought something to stores that we haven’t seen before: a scooter for someone bigger than a little kid.

What We Know:

Crane Foldable Luxe Big Wheel Scooter - 1

The Crane Luxe Big Wheel Scooter is an Aldi Find. That means each store gets a single shipment, and once that shipment is sold out, you won’t be able to find it there until it comes back, assuming it comes back at all. If you can’t find it in a store, you’re out of luck. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.

As best as we can tell, the scooter made its debut in December 2025. In 2025, the scooter cost $44.99. That’s on the lower end of prices for a scooter with these specs on Amazon.

According to Aldi, the scooter’s features include:

  • Foldable for easy storage
  • Wheel dimensions: 7.8″ diameter
  • High-quality ABEC 7 ball bearing
  • Height adjustable up to 42.5″
  • Non-slip footplate
  • Equipped with handlebar break and rear-wheel brake
  • Kickstand for easy parking
  • Weight limit 44 to 220 pounds
  • For users age 8 and older

The height and weight stand out to us. The weight limit and highest height setting are both good enough for many adults. If the rider is much more than, say, 6 feet tall or 200 pounds that person might be pushing the upper end of this scooter, but beneath that it may be an option.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried out this scooter, so we can’t speak to ease of setup, the smoothness of the ride, or durability. For that reason, we’ve created this open thread where users can share their experiences.

Do you have any experience with this scooter? Let us know about it in the comments!

  1. Just bought this tonight and took it out at home. Scooter’s weight is roughly about 12.5-13 pounds according to my bathroom scale. Overall it mostly feels like good quality. The handles have the little metal buttons you push in and align with holes in the center of the handlebar, although the holes are slightly larger so there is a little bit of play and wiggle in the handles. Don’t have much experience with push scooters outside cheap small ones as a kid, so this is pretty similar to those, although would have been nice if they moved around a bit less. Only other thing i noticed was the kickstand is a little weird. It leans the scooter over a bit more than I anticipated. Went to check if there were any adjustments I could make, and noticed there is a ton of play/looseness in the kickstand position when the kickstand is down. It feels very secure with no play when it’s up for when riding. Really weird how loose it feels when down.

Haven’t ridden it yet, so will see how that goes. Been meaning to get something similar to use and take along on the bus. Hopefully this ends up working out nicely but if nothing else will be a good test case before buying something more expensive.

  2. Just got this for my kid at Aldi’s Amazing price at $24.99 💕 sadly it was the last one now the other 3 kiddos are fighting over it 😭 GREAT FIND
