Adventuridge 40-Ounce Thirst Crusher 2.0 Tumbler

Aldi has been selling Stanley tumbler dupes on and off for about a year now. I reviewed one of the first ones to hit Aldi shelves back in August of 2023. It seemed like a great cup when I used it for ice water. Then, I tried it with hot water to make tea (it is supposed to be good for hot and cold beverages) and the plastic lid warped and was no longer useable.

Aldi has sold the Stanley dupe a few more times since then, but I never bought another one.

Then, in the late summer of 2024, Aldi introduced a new and improved Adventuridge 40-Ounce Thirst Crusher 2.0 Tumbler. In other words, Aldi is selling an updated version of its original Stanley dupe. In particular, this new Aldi tumbler claims to have a better lid and a better handle compared to the old Aldi model.

I was instantly curious, so I added the new tumbler to my Aldi shopping list.

If you’re wondering what all the hype about Stanley tumblers and Stanley knockoffs is about, Stanleys have become extremely popular on social media, especially on TikTok. It’s common to see people — mostly women — carrying around these large cups with their distinctive side handles.

The Stanley company was founded more than 100 years ago by engineer William Stanley Jr. The company produces vacuum-insulated stainless steel water bottles, along with mugs, lunch boxes, cook sets, flasks, growlers, coolers, and more. Their products have a reputation for durability and come with a lifetime warranty, and the company notes that pilots used their thermoses in World War II.

The Aldi cup is an imitation of the Stanley Quencher H2.0 Flowstate Tumbler, which has a 40-ounce capacity with a handle on one side, a straw, and a tapered bottom portion so the cup fits in a vehicle cup holder. The lid also has an opening so you can drink directly from it if you don’t want to use the straw.

The Adventuridge 40-Ounce Thirst Crusher 2.0 Tumbler is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and that isn’t restocked immediately. These tumblers are popular enough that Aldi does tend to bring them back into stores several times a year. However, if these are not currently in stock at your local store, you can’t order them online from Aldi.

I bought this to review, and I paid $9.99 for it at my local store at the time of publication. That’s the same price I paid for an Aldi tumbler a year ago, and it’s a lot cheaper than the $45 price tag for a name-brand 40-ounce Stanley.

You might find other Stanley knockoffs for less money on Amazon, but I didn’t spot any as cheap as the Aldi knockoff.

Here are a few features, according to the label sticker:

  • Includes a new and improved lid and handle
  • Double wall vacuum insulated
  • Great for hot and cold beverages
  • Condensation proof
  • Made in China

The tumblers came in several colors and patterns, including a pastel swirl design that got the attention of many Swifties because it looked similar to the cover for Taylor Swift’s latest album. I opted for a simple blue tumbler.

The bottom of the tumbler states it is top rack dishwasher safe, but handwashing is recommended. I’m assuming only the cup itself is dishwasher safe and not the plastic lid or straw.

The Aldi tumbler doesn’t come with a warranty, but it’s a $10 cup, so that’s not a big deal (For comparison, a Stanley has a lifetime warranty.)

Trying the Tumbler:

I wondered how this 2.0 version compared to the original tumbler Aldi sold. It was advertised as having a new and improved lid and handle.

It turns out, the handle has some slight rubber cushioning on both the inner and outer parts of the handle.

The lid, meanwhile, has a flexible rubber-covered opening for the straw. The rubber has slits so the straw can push through it. This helps to provide some extra insulation for your drink, with less open space for the cold or heat to leak out. With the previous tumbler, you simply stuck the straw through a larger drinking spout in the lid, which left you with a lot of open space around the straw. I suppose this lid/straw design might help reduce leaking if the cup tips over, but I wouldn’t count on it being leakproof in that situation.

So far, I’ve only used this for ice water. It’s been fine. I filled it halfway with ice around noon on the day I bought it, sealed it up with the straw out and the lid closed, and some ice was still there when I was getting ready for bed around 8 or 9 p.m. The ice was melted by 6 a.m., but the water was still nice and cold.

I left the tumbler filled with cold water (the ice had already melted) in my car in a hot parking lot all afternoon one day. When I came back to my car, the water was still cold. It was colder than I expected, considering that I had the straw inserted in the lid, leaving a small space for cold to leak out.

I’m hesitant to use this for hot beverages because of how my plastic lid warped with the other Stanley dupe I bought from Aldi. I’ll probably eventually try putting hot tea in this, but I’ll leave the plastic lid off for a bit until the water has cooled some. Hopefully, it will be okay. I’ll update this post with any potential new developments.

The Verdict:

The Adventuridge 40-Ounce Thirst Crusher 2.0 Tumbler is Aldi’s latest attempt at imitating the popular name-brand Stanley tumbler. Aldi has sold tumblers like this in the past year, but this 2.0 model features a cushioned handle and an improved lid.

This is advertised as being good for cold and hot drinks. We’re a little wary about trying it with hot beverages. That’s because the lid warped on the previous Aldi Stanley knockoff we bought when we tried that one with hot water for tea. But for cold drinks, this works great. It even kept our water cold in a hot car all afternoon.

If you’re looking for a cup that looks like a Stanley, you won’t find it at a lower price than this one.
