EDITOR’S NOTE: We purchased this puzzle organizer as soon as it arrived in our local stores, and you can read our full review here

I like to do the occasional puzzle. This hobby really took off a few years ago during the pandemic, when everyone was spending more time at home and looking for things to do with our time.

My family received some puzzles for Christmas that year, and it could be a challenge finding a good place in the house to put together those puzzles. We tried the living room coffee table (a bit small), the dining room table (not easy to eat dinner with puzzle pieces scattered over the table), and the sunroom coffee table (only usable when it’s not too cold outside).

We finally settled on working puzzles on a large coffee table with foldout leaves in our basement family room, but the light isn’t the greatest down there, which is less than ideal when you’re working with tiny puzzle pieces.

I have long admired puzzle organizers, which are essentially a portable tabletop surface with storage drawers below. You assemble the puzzle on the top surface, while the drawers are great for storing and organizing puzzle pieces. And the entire thing can be picked up (although they are sometimes heavy) and moved to other places in your house, such as another room, or under a bed or couch. That means, for instance, that you can assemble your puzzle at the dining room table but move it under a bed without the pieces coming apart when it’s time for dinner.

The main thing that’s stopped me from buying a puzzle organize is the price. They often sell for $50, $70, or even $90 on Amazon. I’m not that hardcore of a puzzle person to want to spend that kind of money.

Enter Aldi. For the first time that I know of, the discount grocer is selling a puzzle organizer.

What We Know:

Huntington Home Puzzle Organizer

The Huntington Home Puzzle Organizer (Product Code: 710999) is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for this if it’s sold out at your local store.

This is scheduled to arrive in stores on February 28th, 2024.

The Huntington Home Puzzle Organizer cost $24.99 at the time of publication. That’s at least half the cost of similarly sized puzzle organizers on Amazon.

Here’s more information about the Aldi puzzle organizer:

  • Made of bamboo
  • Fits 1,000 piece puzzles
  • Includes 4 sliding drawers and non-slip feet
  • Includes cover to protect progress
  • Includes swivel system for steady rotation
  • Dimensions: 30 in L x 22 in W x 1.9 in H

What We Don’t Know:

I haven’t yet purchased this puzzle organizer, so I don’t know how sturdy it is or how easy it is to use. I am going to buy one as soon as it arrives in my local stores. In the meantime, this open thread is a place where readers can discuss the puzzle organizer.

  1. I’m disappointed that it only holds 1,000 pieces. I currently use different size bulletin boards to hold my puzzles then bowls with lids for my pieces. I still might buy this though.

  2. I was so excited when I found this puzzle organizer at aldi’s…buyer beware it WILL NOT FIT 1,000 piece puzzle…dimensions on a 1,000 piece is 30×24…nd this item is 30×22…regretfully I had to return it

    • Puzzles have different size pieces, so not all 1000 piece puzzles have the same dimensions. Many will fit , but not all.

  3. Ok I too have done 7 – 1000 piece puzzles during the pandemic. I was also looking for a puzzle board but like other reviewers said, I was not spending $50-$90 for one. I did buy this on 2/28/24 when it came out. It seems well made n not that heavy to carry. BONUS.. it swivels.. I measured inside frame n all of my 1000 pcs puzzles I still have to do, are within this size. Thank you Aldi for the great find.
