It’s back-to-school season. If you’re a parent, you’re no doubt excited. If you’re a student, how you feel probably depends on how old you are. And if you’re a teacher? Well, let’s just say that we understand.

A major part of back to school season is getting the school supplies together: pencils, notebooks, markers, locker décor, and, importantly, backpacks. Just about every student from kindergarten to college has use for a backpack, and if you walk into any big box store, you’ll see dozens of models, from simple to trendy.

Aldi gets in on back to school season and is known to carry backpacks, including its own private label versions. We’ve used those in the past and liked them. But if your youngster wants something licensed, with characters … well, Aldi sells those, too.

What We Know:

Aldi Licensed Backpacks

The 3-Piece Character Backpack Set (Product Code: 709217) is an Aldi Find. It’s only in stores for a limited time; once it’s sold out, you won’t be able to get it again until it comes back, best case scenario being the same time next year. Aldi doesn’t ship online either, so if you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck.

At the time of this post, the set costs $14.99. That’s a good price for just the backpack alone — add in two other components and it’s a very good price.

So what do you get? Each set comes with a backpack, an insulated lunch bag, and a pencil case. The backpack measures 16″ x 12″ x 5″, the lunch bag measures 7.5″ x 9″ x 2.75″, and the pencil case measures 3.25″ x 8″. There are seven styles available, including a couple that aren’t in the picture above. Those styles are:

  • Encanto
  • Little Mermaid
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Spider-Man
  • Paw Patrol
  • Minnie
  • Frozen

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried out this set, so we don’t know how well each of the pieces works or how long they last. That’s why we’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.

Have you tried out this set? Let us know about it in the comments.
