Belmont Cookies and Cream Scrumptious Cheesecake Dessert Bars

I’m not a fan of traditional cake, so I lean more toward cheesecake or ice cream cake. These dessert bars looked interesting, combining cheesecake with cookies and cream, both of which I enjoy. I figured there wasn’t any harm in seeing if they met my expectations.

Belmont Cookies and Cream Scrumptious Cheesecake Dessert Bars are $4.49 for a box of two. These are an Aldi Find, so once they’re gone, they’re gone. Two bars per box is probably more than you need, since each bar is pretty big and they are very filling. Price-wise, it comes out to about $2.25 per bar.

A serving is one bar, which has 530 calories, 28g of total fat, 0.5g of saturated fat, 63g of carbohydrates, and 36g of added sugars. If allergies are a concern, there’s a lot to look out for: this dessert contains eggs, milk, soy, wheat, and possibly almonds, coconut, peanuts, pecans, and walnuts.

The instructions are simple. You take the bars out of the box and let them thaw in the fridge for 4 to 5 hours. As for the taste, it’s basically cheesecake with a lot of Oreo in it. There’s crushed cookies on top, followed by the filling, and then a thin layer of cookie on the bottom.

I originally thought the middle would be ice cream, since the ad for them online simply said they were dessert bars, so that was a bit disappointing for me. But other members of my family were more excited, because they like cheesecake and that’s exactly what this is. The cheesecake portion in the middle has a taste like the filling of an Oreo. Everyone in my house approved, and anyone who likes Oreos will most likely say the same.

The Verdict:

Even though you could find versions of these at other stores, this is certainly something unique for Aldi. These dessert bars were fun to try out, and I would consider buying them again at some point. I would recommend any Oreo or cheesecake fan to give them a shot.
