Benton’s Cookie Mug Topper
Aldi has introduced some fun twists on hot cocoa this year. It started with the Choceur Melting Snowman, which is a hot chocolate bomb shaped like a snowman that melts into a cozy drink when you pour warm milk over it. The latest Aldi addition to your hot chocolate mug — or your cup of tea or coffee — is a shortbread-type cookie shaped like a gingerbread person, and it perches on the rim of your mug.
Benton’s Cookie Mug Toppers cost $1.99 at the time of publication for a 5.47-ounce box that contains 16 cookies. The package describes this as “crunchy butter cookies designed to fit on the rim of your mug.”
These are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so once these sell out at your local store, they’re gone.
The back of this cookie package states:
Introducing ALDI’s Limited Edition collection, a range of products that extends across the brands you love. From your family favorites to something new, we bring this holiday collection chosen for you.
Cookie ingredients are wheat flour, sugar, butter, leavening (sodium bicarbonate), honey, eggs, emulsifier (lecithin), salt, and natural vanilla flavoring.
If you’re watching out for allergens, these contain wheat, milk and eggs. They may contain soya, peanuts, and tree nuts (shea, hazelnuts).
There are four servings per package, and one 4-cookie serving (39 grams) has 160 calories, 5 grams of total fat (6% DV), 3 grams of saturated fat (15% DV), 100 mg of sodium (4% DV), 27 grams of total carbohydrates (10% DV), and 10 grams of added sugars.
These cookie mug toppers are both cute and tasty. The cookies are buttery and crispy, topped with a light sprinkling of sugar granules. They’re perfect for dunking in a hot drink like cocoa, tea, or coffee. Serve them during a Christmas party, or simply enjoy them any time you want a treat. They are similar but not quite identical to a shortbread cookie assortment Aldi tends to sell around this time of year.
Don’t forget to pick up some mini marshmallows.
The Verdict:
Benton’s Cookie Mug Toppers are buttery, crispy cookies designed to perch on the rim of your mug. If you want a way to jazz up a hot drink like cocoa, tea, or coffee, try this cookie.
I purchased all that our local Aldis had. Can I purchase directly or where can I purchase mire? They are great and do not to run out.
As this post mentions above, if they’re not in stock at your local Aldi, you can’t get them. Aldi tends to stock these around the holidays, so it’s possible they might come back again in November or December, but we don’t know for certain. https://www.aldireviewer.com/does-aldi-ship-its-products-online/
