Breakfast Best Maple Flavored Pork Sausage Patties
As most people know, Aldi has a pretty good collection of “heat-and-go” options in their freezer sections: different kinds of sausages, french toast sticks, and even full sandwiches. This tells you just how popular that kind of food is, since Aldi is a limited inventory store.
Depending on your Aldi, you have a few major choices of sausages, including links and patties. This reviewer tends to favor the patties, in large part because they seem to be a better value and they definitely last longer. Among the patties there are both the “normal” flavored patties and maple-flavored patties. Both are pretty good, although the maple-flavored are tasty enough that they deserve a review on their own … which is exactly how we ended up here.
The Breakfast Best Maple Flavored Pork Sausage patties, which are a Regular Buy, come in a durable resealable plastic packaging, although you’ll need a pair of scissors to cut off the seal at the top. That’s the limit of difficulties; everything else about these patties is easy.
Cooking them is a breeze: throw them on a skillet, heat them until they’re a little browned on each side, and you’re pretty much good to go. (The packaging also has microwave instructions, although I think they come out a little better over a stove if you can manage it.) Once cooked, they cut easily. The patties also go well with other things — a personal favorite is creating a breakfast sandwich using the maple flavored patties, eggs, and cheddar cheese on a toasted muffin, but they are a good asset to any breakfast plate.
You might wonder if that maple flavoring comes at a cost of lots of sugar. Surprisingly, no; each patty only has about 3 grams of sugar each. On the other hand, they also have a fair amount of saturated fat and cholesterol, so be sure to take a close look at the nutrition information if those are concerns to you.
The Verdict:
If you like sausage patties, give these a try. Highly recommended.
I love these with a passion. And now they say that pork is good for the heart
BUT I never realized they are NOT gluten-free
it does not say it on the package and it says modified food starch. bawl!!!!
I will miss them
I purchased the Bold Country sausage patties from Breakfast Best, not realizing they contained gluten until I saw your post. It would sure be helpful if they were labeled as such. So sick. Not happy.
My son and i love th maple patties but aldis is always out of them.
I always have to dig for the maple flavored sausage patties because they’re mixed in among the “original” or regular-flavored patties. There always seem to be a lot of regular patties and not many maple ones.
I don’t eat for taste. My priority is HEALTH so I do eat the plain patties.
I ALWAYS HAVE TO DIG THROUGH MAPLE TO GET TO MY FAVORITE. THE REGULAR. THE LAST FEW WEEKS MY ALDI’S DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE SAUSAGES.
I cannot seem to find the hot sausage pattis anymore. Did they stop making them?
