Huntington Home Harvest Nostalgic Pickup Truck

Last Updated on October 3, 2022

I enjoy decorating for fall, but if you’re like me, your collection of autumn decorations is probably small. I decorate with a lot of real pumpkins and mini gourds, and I have a scarecrow on my porch, and that’s about it. Thankfully, I can find affordable seasonal décor at Aldi, and that includes fall décor. Most recently Aldi sold some small light-up ceramic vintage pickup trucks filled with jack-o-lanterns that caught my eye.

The Huntington Home Nostalgic Truck

The Huntington Home Nostalgic Truck cost $12.99 at the time of publication. It was sold in several different colors and designs: fall trucks in green or blue with lighted pumpkins, or Halloween trucks in black or white with lighted jack-o-lanterns. The side door on the Halloween trucks says “Jack O’ Lantern Farms” and “fresh picked,” while the fall truck says something along the lines of Pumpkin Picking (I think?). I liked the idea of “Jack O’ Lantern Farms,” so I bought the black truck.

These nostalgic trucks were also sold alongside small black Halloween trees that are topped with a glowing jack-o-lantern and trimmed with purple and orange lights. This review deals primarily with the trucks.

Here’s more info on the truck and tree:

  • Ceramic Truck in Fall or Halloween design measures 5.9″ x 3.54″ x 3.74″
  • Nostalgic Halloween Tree measures 7.5″ x 4.1″ x 4.3″
  • Fall Truck available in green or blue with lighted pumpkins
  • Halloween Truck available in black or white with lighted jack-o-lanterns
  • All are battery operated with 6-hour on/18-hour off timer
  • Requires two AA batteries (not included)
  • Features super bright LED Lights
  • Made in China

All of the trucks (and the tree) are Aldi Finds, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for specials after they sell out at your local store.

When you get your truck (or tree) home, remove the tag and the “try me” button by simply gently tugging at the cord where it attaches to the white plastic battery compartment cover.

I was amused by the small print on the inside of the tag, which states: “For the delight and amusement of all people age 14 and over.” Needless to say, a ceramic decoration like this is not a toy for children to handle.

To turn the lights on, slide the switch on the bottom to the ON position. To turn the lights off, slide the switch to the OFF position. To activate the timer, slide the switch to the TIMER position, and the lights will turn on for six hours and will be off for 18 hours before turning on again.

The inside of the tag also lists the website for Mr. Christmas, which produces holiday decorations sold at many retailers, including Walmart, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Big Lots, and Bed Bath & Beyond. Aldi is no stranger to selling Mr. Christmas products; its Merry Moments Nostalgic Christmas Tree is a Mr. Christmas product. While Mr. Christmas is obviously known for its Christmas décor, it also sells a small selection of Halloween decorations, as we see here with Aldi.

So far, I like this Halloween truck. I’ve got the timer running, so we’ll see how it performs. The truck is cute, and it’s a nice fall touch without being scary for Halloween. It is on the small side, but that makes it easy to tuck onto a shelf or set on a table without it being too obtrusive. And when the fall season is over, I can swap it out for my nostalgic Christmas tree from Aldi.

The Verdict:

The Huntington Home Nostalgic Truck comes in several different colors, with either light-up pumpkins or light-up jack-o-lanterns. It’s petite, standing at just under just under 4 inches tall, and it’s nearly 6 inches long from the truck’s front to back. It uses two AA batteries (not included) and can run on a timer if you want it to automatically light up each evening. It’s cute, and if you’re looking for some fall décor to spruce up your house this season, this is a good piece to consider.
