LIVE IN STYLE Sling Bag

EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi is selling this bag again the week of August 13th, 2025, for the same price of $9.99. We bought two bags in 2024 and put them to a lot of use. See our update at the end of this post about how they held up.

Crossbody purses have long been my preferred style of purse. I like that they’re hands-free and securely stay on my body, so I can push a shopping cart, carry a shopping bag, or hold a child’s hand without the hassle of hanging on to my purse as well. Wearing a purse or bag crossbody-style also helps to ensure it won’t get set down somewhere and forgotten or, worse, get picked up and stolen when my attention is elsewhere.

One recent trend is crossbody sling bags that can be worn in a variety of ways: over the shoulder, over the chest, or on the back. I’m all here for this trend. These types of bags can vary in size, but they’re usually big enough to carry essentials such as keys, a phone, ID, and other small items.

This summer, Aldi is selling a sling bag as a limited-time special. It’s being sold under the LIVE IN STYLE brand, which is a newer private label at Aldi. There is no company called LIVE IN STYLE. Instead, it’s the name I’ve seen Aldi put on some different types of bags lately, including backpacks, small cooler bags, and even a diaper bag, and those bags may all be sourced from various suppliers.

The LIVE IN STYLE Sling Bag is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at some later time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products if they’re sold out at your nearby store.

This cost $9.99 when I bought it in 2024. It’s selling for the same price again in 2025. That’s one of the lowest prices I found for similar sling bags on Amazon.

Here’s more information about this bag’s features in 2024, and I’m assuming it’s the same in 2025:

  • Dimensions: 6.3″ L x 1.97″ W x 7.87″ H
  • Available in Black, Pink, and Green (Available in black, brown, and pink in 2025.)
  • Includes D rings and a removable, adjustable strap (the strap is packed inside the bag when you purchase it)
  • Can be worn multiple different ways: as a crossbody backpack, chest pack, or shoulder bag
  • Includes concealed back zipper pocket that opens to water bottle holder pouch
  • Outer material: 100% nylon; Inner material: 100% polyester

The large interior pocket, with a small zippered mesh pouch inside that. Plus, another separate good-sized pocket at the front. The adjustable strap was stowed inside the bag, and I had to attach it.

The packaging indicates this should not be machine washed. You can wipe it clean with a damp cloth using mild soap and water. Air dry only.

This is a compact bag that has some fairly spacious storage compartments considering its small size. There are two larger zippered compartments that make up the main storage spaces for this bag. One compartment is larger than the other, and I was actually able to fit a Zenni sunglasses case and my phone in the larger compartment and got it zipped up.

On the back of the bag is a non-zippered compartment that actually fits my phone. I was surprised my phone fit there because I have a somewhat larger phone, but it fits well.

Also on the side at the back of the bag is a small zippered section that can hold small items, or you can pull out the lining and it transforms into a water bottle holder. It won’t hold really big bottles, but it will hold a standard-sized water bottle.

This is a handy little bag that holds quite a bit. I like wearing it as a chest bag or as a crossbody backpack.

It’s comfortable to wear and the strap is easy to adjust. The clip that fastens to the D rings is a bit hard to open, but it’s all right.

I’m looking forward to wearing this on various vacations, day trips, hikes, and outings around town. It looks like it’ll be great for holding all kinds of small essentials. In fact, I liked this bag’s design so much that I went back to Aldi and bought the pink one for another family member. I’ll update this post with any potential new developments, especially pertaining to how well this bag holds up to use.

The Verdict:

The LIVE IN STYLE Sling Bag can be worn as a crossbody backpack, as a crossbody chest bag, or as an over-the-shoulder bag. It has several zippered pockets and can hold a phone, glasses case, keys, cash / cards, hygiene items, and other small necessary items. It has a special pocket for a phone, and it even has a special pocket that pulls out to hold a standard-sized water bottle. We like this sling bag’s design so much we went back and bought a second one, and we are looking forward to putting these bags to the test on outings this year.

UPDATE (8/7/2025) — We’ve owned two of these bags for a year now. We mostly take them to our local Six Flags theme park, where they’re useful for holding essentials and a disposable water bottle and are small enough to easily stash in ride cubbies. We’ve also taken them on some hikes and even used them as a purse while running errands.

The stitches are strained on the bottom of the water bottle holder pouch after a year of use.

We did notice that after a year, the fabric on the bottom of the water bottle holder pouch on the pink sling bag we bought has started to wear away and stretch out from the stitches. Considering that these have gotten moderate use, though, we’re not too bothered by that. Overall, these have been really useful little bags for a reasonable price.
