Open Thread: Crane Ladder Toss, Bottle Strike, and Bean Bag Toss

Tailgating season is upon us. Labor Day cookouts will be here soon. Fall camping trips are coming.
All of these things mean that people will be looking for outdoor entertainment. Games like ladder toss and bean bag toss — also called cornhole — are common sights.
Aldi has you covered with plenty of outdoor games this season. The most recent weekly ad features a trio of games for less than $20 each. They include ladder toss, bottle strike, and bean bag toss.
Let’s take a closer look at what Aldi is offering.
What We Know:
Crane Ladder Toss, Bottle Strike, and Bean Bag Toss (Product Code: 712090) are Aldi Finds, so each store gets a single shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are sold out at your local store.
These cost $16.99 each at the time of publication. That’s on the lower end of prices for other bean bag toss games I found on Amazon at the time of writing. It’s also at least half the cost of many other ladder toss games and bottle strike games on Amazon. In addition, the bean bag toss game is less than other bean bag toss / cornhole games Aldi has previously sold.
Here’s more information, according to Aldi.
Crane Ladder Toss:
- Includes two sturdy PVC targets
- Features a built-in scoring tracker
- Set of six ladder toss bolos (three red and three blue)
Crane Bean Bag Toss:
- Includes two target boards
- Features built-in bean bag storage
- Comes with eight weighted bean bags (four red and four blue)
Crane Bottle Strike:
- Features a unique bottle holder design
- Includes built-in scoring tracker
- Includes one molded disc, two bottles, and one carry bag
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t yet tried any of these games, so we don’t know how easily they set up, how well they work, or how durable they are. We write open threads so readers have a place to talk about Aldi products and ask questions.
