EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi sold this tent again in 2022 for $49.99. In October of 2022, Aldi sold a different version of this tent for $39.99, and its measurements were 56″ L x 61″ W x 56″ H.

We like to go camping during the summer … but this is most certainly not camping gear. Instead, it appears that Aldi has decided to roll out some gear for kids’ rooms, or the play room. Aldi technically bills this as part of their “back to school” stuff, although I’m guessing it’s more about getting kids ready for coming home from school than anything else.

What We Know:

The SOHL Furniture Kid’s Indoor Teepee (product code 58158) is an ALDI Find, so it’s a limited-buy item. At the time of this post, it retails for $39.99. Apparently kid’s indoor teepees are a thing, because Amazon sells buckets of them, most (but not all) which are more expensive than this one. The Aldi teepee, at this time, comes in various designs, including a black / white stripe (pictured above), mint / white triangles, or gray / white stars.

When open, it measures 58 inches deep, 58 inches wide, and 56 inches high. When closed, it’s 37.5 inches long and 5.5 inches in diameter. The teepee comes in a carrying case, which it can fold back into for storage when not in use.

What We Don’t Know:

While Aldi has, on rare occasions, sold licensed teepee tents, this is the first time we’ve ever seen an Aldi-branded one. Because of that, we don’t know how easy it is to assemble or store, or how durable it is. As a kid’s tent that runs nearly $40, we’d like to hope it has some staying power. We also don’t know who makes the thing.

Do you have any experience with this tent? Feel free to let us know in the comments.

  1. Was excited to see the teepee but when I went in to purchase it they didn’t have them in stock drove to another Aldi store they didn’t have them either. How can I get one

  2. I bought one on sale and it’s okay, but it does not keep its shape and tends to slide. Also, there is no information about whether or not it is treated with flame retardant chemicals. Does anyone have info on this?

  3. I purchased this tent and soon after one of the dowel rods broke right at the connection joint. I am trying to figure out how to replace it.
