SimplyNature Laundry Detergent

I’ve written before about Aldi’s many laundry detergent options. The shelves regularly feature Tide, Gain, and a few varieties of Aldi’s own Tandil line of detergents. Recently, I noticed a new detergent sold as a limited-time Special Buy (ALDI Find): SimplyNature Laundry Detergent.

SimplyNature Laundry Detergent

Aldi’s SimplyNature brand encompasses a range of items that includes cereal, peanut butter, salsa, salad dressing, snack food, juice, marinara sauce, and more. The brand is all about natural ingredients, or as Aldi puts it, it’s “all about giving you everything you want, and nothing you don’t.” SimplyNature products are all organic or Non-GMO Project verified, with no added artificial ingredients or preservatives. You can find a list of ingredients that are not in SimplyNature products here.

As for the SimplyNature Laundry Detergent, it advertises it is free and clear and is not tested on animals. It also is free of dyes and perfumes, is chlorine free, and contains biodegradable cleaning agents.

The detergent cost $6.99 for a 100-ounce bottle at my store, and it claims to be good for 64 loads of laundry in either standard or high-efficiency washing machines. The ingredients list is short: anionic and non-ionic surfactants, and enzymes.

My first impression after unscrewing the cap was the lack of scent. I’m accustomed to heavily scented laundry detergents, but this has a very mild soap scent that is almost undetectable. My clothes washed up just fine with this detergent.

The Verdict:

Aldi’s SimplyNature Laundry Detergent is free and clear, is not tested on animals, is free of dyes and perfumes, has no chlorine, and contains biodegradable cleaning agents. My clothes came clean in the washing machine, and this detergent has no scent other than a mild clean smell. If you prefer certain name-brand detergents because of the nice scent they leave on your clothes, this detergent may not be for you. However, if you want to avoid additives or if you have allergies or other sensitivities to traditional detergents, this product is worth trying.

  1. I agree. I like the soap and can’t find it anywhere. It cleans well and is economical, reasonably priced compared to comparable products.
