Acacia is a durable hardwood found in various parts of the world, including Africa, Asia, and Australia. Long viewed as a useful wood for crafting, acacia may have been the wood used to build the Biblical Ark of the Covenant. Today, it’s used in a variety of ornamentations, from furniture to cutting boards, and American consumers view it as a more exotic kind of wood. Naturally, it’s bound to attract attention when it’s used in products.

Aldi, while not a furniture store, is in the business of rotating in furniture from time to time, most of it under the SOHL Furniture house brand. Occasionally, that furniture is of the acacia variety.

What We Know:

The SOHL Furniture Acacia Stool (Product Code: 705777) is an Aldi Find, which means each store gets a single shipment. Once it’s sold out, you can’t get it until it comes back into stores. Aldi doesn’t sell its products online, so if you can’t find it in your local store(s), you’re out of luck.

At the time of this post, the stool cost $39.99. That’s the same price the stool retailed for in 2021, when it was sold under the name SOHL Furniture Acacia Dip Dyed Stool.

According to Aldi, the stool …

  • comes with navy or white paint on stool legs
  • holds up to 225 lbs.
  • measures 9.5″ x 15″

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried out this stool ourselves, so we don’t know how sturdy and stable it is or how well it holds up over time. We’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.
