I have to be careful when I shop at Aldi. Not only do the nonfood products in the famous middle aisle tempt me, whether it’s a rug or a toaster or some home decor or scented candles. The food products also can be hard to resist. Especially the desserts. Aldi sells some fantastic desserts, including creme brulee, all kinds of ice cream, mini eclairs, and 7 Up cake, to name a few.

Among the treats I often see rotated onto the shelves at Aldi are some 7 layer dessert bars. The package describes these as a “graham cracker crust topped with coconut, chocolate, butterscotch chips and pecans.”

What We Know:

Specially Selected 7 Layer Dessert Bars

Specially Selected 7 Layer Dessert Bars are an Aldi Find. That means they’re in stores for just a short time. Each store receives one shipment. After that sells out, they’re gone until whenever Aldi decides to bring them back. You can’t buy these online from Aldi if they aren’t in stock at your local store. In my experience, Aldi seems to sell these several times a year.

These cost $4.95 for a 14.1-pounce package at the time of publication. That comes out to about 35 cents per ounce. With eight bars per package, that’s about 62 cents per bar.

These are sold under the Specially Selected brand, which isn’t a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for various gourmet-style foods.

These bars are a product of Canada.

  1. I have had these. They are SUPERLATIVE. I don’t buy them any more so I don’t eat the whole box in the car. Lol

  2. I’ve had them when theywere offered before – tasty, but very very sweet – a small portion is enough. Good news: if you can’t find them these are very easy to make and recipies are online.
