Sundae Shoppe Vanilla Ice Cream Filled Cupcakes Returning to Aldi

This post is an open thread

If you’re celebrating a special event — a birthday, a graduation, or really anything — few treats are as ideal for the occasion as cupcakes. They’re portable and portioned into single servings, and they’re delicious. Aldi sells some different cupcakes throughout the year, often in the form of mini cupcakes, and they also sometimes sell Reese’s Peanut Butter Cupcakes. In addition, they carry knockoff Little Debbie Chocolate Cupcakes all year.

In recent years, I’ve seen Aldi start to sell a specialty cupcake that’s filled with ice cream. It’s a limited-time special, so you’ll want to stock your freezer because these won’t stick around. These cupcakes feature vanilla cake and are filled with vanilla ice cream and have an ice cream topping. They’re also topped with rainbow sprinkles.

Sundae Shoppe Vanilla Ice Cream Filled Cupcakes are an Aldi Find, so they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets a single shipment, and after that sells out, they’re not restocked until the next year, unless Aldi decides not to bring them back. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not currently in stock at your local store.

These are scheduled to arrive in stores May 29th, 2024.

Sundae Shoppe Vanilla Ice Cream Filled Cupcakes cost $4.95 at the time of publication for an 8.5-ounce box that contains four cupcakes. That comes out to about 58 cents per ounce, or about $1.24 per cupcake.

These are a product of Canada.

These are sold under the Sundae Shoppe brand. There is not a company called Sundae Shoppe. Rather, that’s the name Aldi puts on many of its frozen dessert and ice cream products to give them a uniform look. Aldi sources those products from various suppliers.
