What is the Best Day of the Week to Shop at Aldi?

Aldi Find Stock Photo - Here Today

Aldi is different than other grocers. There are the quarter deposits for the shopping carts, and the products stacked in boxes on pallets, and the fact that you have to bag your own groceries.

Another one of Aldi’s defining features is the store’s rotating selection of merchandise, called Aldi Finds. There’s the famed middle aisle that gets stocked with limited-edition non-food Aldi Finds such as bath towels, small kitchen appliances, and vacuum cleaners. Aldi also sells limited-edition Aldi Find foods, including frozen, refrigerated, and non-perishable items.

Each store gets just one shipment of Aldi Finds, and once those sell out, they’re not immediately restocked. Aldi might bring them back a few months or a year later, or possibly never. Also, you can’t order something online from Aldi if it’s not in stock at your local store.

If you spot an Aldi Find in the weekly Aldi ad and you really want to buy it, you might wonder what the best day to shop at Aldi is. We’ll answer that question here.

What is the Best Day of the Week to Shop at Aldi?

Each week, new Aldi Finds are scheduled to show up on store shelves on Wednesday. So, on paper, if you want to score a popular Aldi Find, we’d recommend shopping at Aldi first thing on Wednesday morning, or as early in the day on Wednesday as possible.

If you wait until the weekend, things are going to be picked over, and the shelves may look especially sparse if you shop on a Monday or Tuesday.

However, in our years of experience shopping at various Aldi locations, we’ve learned that not all stores strictly stick to that Wednesday schedule. At the Aldi location nearest to us, most of the weekly Aldi Finds –both food and non-food — tend to get set out on shelves on Tuesday evening. Sometimes, we’ve even seen some Aldi Finds in the freezer case or on the nonperishable food shelves as early as mid-day on Monday.

We’ve personally gotten into a habit of shopping on Tuesday evenings at our local store. We’re usually able to find all the Aldi Finds we wanted to pick up then.

Closing Thoughts:

Technically, new Aldi Finds should be available on Aldi store shelves starting first thing on Wednesday mornings.

What we’ve discovered in reality, though, is that things often get put on the shelves late in the day on Tuesdays. Your local store’s practices may vary.

We think Wednesday is an excellent day to do your weekly Aldi shopping trip. Just keep in mind that if you have your eye on a product that you think will be popular and might sell out quickly, it’s worth paying a visit to your local Aldi on Tuesday evening.

I have a new favorite which is not an Aldi’s find. It is Taboule salad. I went Tuesday 9-23 and Wednesday 9-24. It has not been restocked. All they had left was a black bean salad and a chickpea salad. When is the best day of week for those salads to be restocked. I wish there would be a schedule. The Taboule salad is my favorite.

    1. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what the method is regarding when Regular Buys are restocked. It may be a different schedule for different products. It’s possible the taboule could be experiencing temporary shipping delays. Hopefully it shows up again soon for you.
