Aldi Selling the Ambiano 20-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer

Our family has never really had much use for a rice cooker. If we cook rice in our house, we tend to cook it in a saucepan. To be fair, though, we don’t make rice often, and we do understand the appeal of a dedicated cooker if you do make a lot of rice. Rice cookers are known for being more convenient and mistake-proof than a stovetop, and they also have some versatility beyond just rice cooking. If you make rice frequently and don’t have, say, an Instant Pot, this is a product worth a look.

Aldi has sold a couple of rice cookers over the years. One is a 6-cup cooker. If you need something bigger, like when you’re serving a family or bigger gathering, Aldi sells this large one.

What We Know:

The Ambiano 20-Cup Rice Cooker and Steamer (Product Code: 700168) is an Aldi Find, which means you can only find it in stores for a short time. Each store gets a single shipment, and once it’s sold out, it won’t come back until Aldi brings it back, whenever that might be. Additionally, Aldi doesn’t ship products online. So if you can’t find this at your local store, you’re out of luck.

In October of 2024 and September of 2023, the 20-cup cooker retailed for $19.99. That’s $5 less than the $24.99 it cost in September of 2022. That’s another example of how Aldi has been dropping prices on many Aldi Finds in recent years. I also can’t find anything cheaper than that online, and most other rice cookers cost a lot more.

Here’s more information about the 2024 rice cooker and steamer, according to Aldi:

• Makes up to 20 cups of cooked rice
• Capacity: 10 cups uncooked rice, 20 cups cooked rice
• Includes a tempered glass lid
• Comes with a removeable nonstick pot for easy cleaning
• Accessories included: Steamer basket, measuring cup, and spoon
• Available in black or white

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried out this steamer, so we don’t know how easily it sets up, how well it cooks, or how long it lasts. We’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.
