Several years ago, I bought a desk and office chair from Aldi in order to create a workspace in my dining room. It eventually became the spot for the “kid” computer, a supervised spot where my kids could play games, watch shows, or look things up. Years later, that desk still serves us well, and the desk chair is still comfortable and shows no obvious signs of wear, so I’m happy with it.
Aldi occasionally sells other types of office furniture, and sometimes they bring back desk chairs in different styles. Recently, Aldi is stocking a velvet office chair that looks ideal for a home office or to go with a desk in a teen or kid bedroom.
What We Know:
The 2023 model.
The SOHL Furniture Velvet Office Chair (Product Code: 706295 in 2023; Product Code: 711077 in 2024) cost $49.99 in February of 2024. That’s the same price it sold for in February of 2023. That’s cheaper than other velvet office chairs on Amazon, although this is also a simpler model without armrests or other features.
This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, this is gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at some later point. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your local store.
Here’s more info about the 2024 chair, according to Aldi:
- Choose from Velvet Gray or Boucle
- Dimensions: 22.5″ L x 23″ W x 28.3-32.3″ H (dimensions in 2023 were 21.65″ L x 20″ W x 30.3–35″ H)
- Great for desks or vanities
- Features adjustable seat height
- Easy to assemble
- Holds up to 225 lbs. (5 lbs. more than the 2023 model)
Like most furniture at Aldi, this velvet office chair is sold under the SOHL Furniture brand. SOHL Furniture is not a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for furniture, including bookcases, blanket ladders, stools, and more.
On the other hand, in my experience, most Aldi furniture — if it comes with a warranty — seems to be warrantied through a company called Fulfillment Services USA. I didn’t have a great experience getting warranty service through that company when I needed help with my Aldi desk a few years ago.
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t tried this chair, so we don’t know how easily it assembles, how comfortable it is, or how durable it is. We write open threads so readers can talk about Aldi products.
