Get Cooking with the Crofton 12 Quart Stainless Steel Stock Pot

This post is an open thread

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2026.

The majority of the cookware in my kitchen has come from Aldi. I’ve got mini casserole dishes, an Awesome Pan, a Mini Awesome Pan, and various fry pans and skillets.

I’ve also got a large porcelain enamel stock pot. There are times when you just need a really big pot, especially if you’re making soup. I always pull out that stock pot when I make cheeseburger soup, which is a family favorite that involves ground beef, veggies, seasonings, and copious amounts of Velveeta-style cheese melt.

If you’re in the market for a stock pot, Aldi also sometimes sells a stainless steel stock pot with a glass lid. It has a 12-quart capacity, the same as my older porcelain enamel Aldi stock pot. This size is big enough for just about anything you might need to cook.

What We Know:

Crofton 12 Quart Stainless Steel Stock Pot

The Crofton 12 Quart Stainless Steel Stock Pot is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t currently in stock at your local store.

This is scheduled to arrive in stores May 6th, 2026.

The Crofton 12 Quart Stainless Steel Stock Pot cost $26.99 in May of 2026. That’s up from $22.99 in May of 2025 and May of 2024. It’s cheaper than other stainless steel stock pots on Amazon.

Aldi recently redesigned its website, and they’re not currently sharing details about most upcoming Aldi Finds. So, there’s a lot we don’t know about this stock pot.

Here’s what we know from when Aldi sold it in 2024, but we don’t know if these specifications are still true for 2026:

  • Measures 10.24 inches in diameter
  • Encapsulated base provides even heat distribution
  • Quart scale included for easy measuring
  • Features high-quality riveted handles
  • Comes with shatter-resistant glass lid with steam vent
  • Suitable for all stovetops
  • Heat resistant up to 482°F
  • Dishwasher safe

This is sold under the Crofton brand. There is no company called Crofton. Instead, that’s the name Aldi puts on many of its kitchen products, which it sources from a variety of suppliers.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried this specific Aldi stock pot, so we don’t know how well it works or how durable it is. We write open threads so readers have a place to discuss Aldi products.

  1. I’m looking for reviews on this one. My husband picked one up for me this weekend, as I had just mentioned that I would like a 10-12 qt. stainless steel stockpot, with a heavy bottom that distributes heat well. I have a ss stockpot, but it is thin metal and food burns easily on the bottom.
The Crofton stockpot has a nice look and feel, but I’m hoping to get more information before using it or deciding whether to keep it. You noted, as does the packaging, the pot has an encapsulated base. I’d like to know more specifics, like if there is aluminum and/or copper between the layers of stainless steel. I’ve read terms such as 3-ply cladding, or all-clad. How does this model compare?
Also, the packaging says the pot is heat resistant up to 428 degrees. Does that mean it is oven safe? And the lid?
Is there a website that provides more information?
Thank you for providing this site! I have purchased other Crofton products in the past, and have been generally happy with them. I did not know about this review site, but will check it out in the future for other offerings.

    1. Glad you found our site! Some of your questions are pretty specific and we don’t have that level of detailed information, but Aldi might be able answer your questions if you reach out to them directly: https://help.aldi.us/s/contact-form-product

Good luck! If you get answers from Aldi, feel free to come back here and let us know what you find out!
