Simply Nature Hearts of Palm Angel Hair and Linguine Pasta
For a few years now, I’ve seen the bags of hearts of palm on the shelves among all the pasta at Aldi. I wondered if they were any good but never got around to trying them, until now.
Hearts of palm come from the inner cores of certain types of palm trees. They can be served in salads or as a meat alternative, or as a pasta substitute. They’re low in fat and carbs and have antioxidants, making them a healthy choice.
Aldi sells hearts of palm in two different varieties: as angel hair “pasta” or as linguine “pasta.” I bought a package of each.
Simply Nature Hearts of Palm Angel Hair Pasta and Linguine Pasta are Regular Buys. That means you should be able to find them at Aldi any time of year.
We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $2.49 for each package at my local Aldi in April of 2025. Each package has a net weight of 12 ounces and a dry weight of 8 ounces.
These are kosher, gluten free, and verified non GMO. They’re products of Ecuador.
Ingredients are sliced hearts of palm, water, natural sea salt, and citric acid.

A 2.65-ounce serving (75 grams) has 20 calories, no fat, 60 mg of sodium (1% DV), 4 grams of total carbohydrates (1% DV), 2 grams of dietary fiber (7% DV), 1 gram of total sugars, no added sugars, and 1 gram of protein.
The back of the packages have simple preparation instructions: rinse and drain with plenty of water. Then heat and enjoy.

I drained, rinsed, and heated these on my stovetop with some organic marinara sauce, also from Aldi. These have a consistency similar to spiralized zucchini noodles, or even spaghetti squash. They have a slight crunch and a neutral flavor. I thought these were decent. One of the pickier eaters in our house, who likes traditional spaghetti and meatballs, said they’d eat these with meatballs. I consider that a win.
The Verdict:
Simply Nature Hearts of Palm Angel Hair Pasta and Linguine Pasta have a neutral taste and can be a good alternative to regular pasta. With 4 grams of carbs and 2 grams of fiber per serving, we like their nutritional profile. These tasted better than we expected, and even some of our more picky taste testers thought these were okay.

We really like these heart of palm noodles in stir fries or other Asian style dishes. Never thought to try them with Italian style sauces!
Using these in stir fry sounds delicious. Thanks for the tip!
I buy both the angel hair and linguine on a regular basis. Each package contains a lot of noodles – making two to three servings for me. Great replacement for pasta – I’m apparently gluten intolerant. I make shrimp dishes using the noodles and creamy sauces with capers and lemons – delicious!!!
I can see this being really good with shrimp and creamy sauces. Gonna have to try that next!
I’m so happy ALDI carries these. As I am diabetic and can’t have pasta, this is a great substitute. I’ve bought both and truly enjoy them.
