Barissimo Cold Foam
Aldi is always one to jump on a trend, whether it’s porcelain enameled cast iron cookware, or holiday sculpted metal reindeer, or rustic wooden candles.
The grocer is just as much on top of its game in the food trend department, too. That includes the coffee aisle. Aldi sells plenty of products to help you make a good cup of coffee at home, including ground coffee, iced coffee, and various creamers.
Cold foam is popular among coffee drinkers right now. Cold foam, made with frothed milk or cream, adds a creamy texture that contrasts with coffee, lattes, or other iced drinks. Cold foam is a big enough trend that I recently saw Starbucks promoting free cold foam as an add-on for rewards members. You can make your own cold foam by using a milk frother to whip milk.
Or, you can buy a whole can of cold foam from Aldi for less than the price of a single coffee shop drink. Aldi Barissimo Cold Foam, which comes in a couple of different flavors, was named a 2024 Fan Favorite. Also, Aldi has offered several limited-edition seasonal flavors in addition to its regular flavors.
Here, I’m taking a look at the cold foam flavors that are currently at my local Aldi: sweet vanilla and caramel macchiato.
The labels state these are “coffee’s new best friend” and that they’re “perfect for hot or cold beverages.”
Barissimo Cold Foam appears to be a Regular Buy. That means you ought to be able to find it at Aldi any time of year. It’s stocked in the refrigerator case near the coffee creamers and iced coffee.
We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $3.39 per 13-ounce can of cold foam at my local Aldi in May of 2025. That’s around 26 cents per ounce.
Barissimo is not a company. Instead, it’s the name Aldi puts on its various coffee products, which it sources from different suppliers.
The cans state they should be refrigerated at 40 degrees, and, naturally, they should not be frozen. The cans I bought had best-by dates of more than five months out from my date of purchase, so these look like they’ll last a while in the fridge.

These are kosher, gluten free, and made with real cream.
If you’re watching out for allergens, both flavors contain milk.
The sweet vanilla flavor contains cream, nonfat milk, sugar, and less than 2% sunflower lecithin, natural flavor, and propellant (nitrous oxide and nitrogen).
The caramel macchiato flavor contains cream, nonfat milk, sugar, and less than 2% sunflower lecithin, natural flavor, caramel color, salt, and propellant (nitrous oxide and nitrogen).
Each can has about twenty 1/3-cup servings. One serving has 40 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat (2% DV), 1 gram of saturated fat (5% DV), 7 grams of total carbohydrates (2% DV), no dietary fiber, 7 grams of total sugars, 6 grams of added sugars (12% DV), and no protein. In addition, the sweet vanilla flavor has no sodium, while the caramel macchiato flavor has 15 mg of sodium (1% DV).

To serve the cold foam, fill a mug or glass 3/4 of the way with your beverage of choice, leaving room for the cold foam. Shake the can 3-4 times before each use, and then remove the cap. Turn the can upside down and press the nozzle to spray out your desired amount of cold foam. After use, rinse the nozzle thoroughly and shake off the excess water. Replace the cap and return the can to the refrigerator.

I initially tried this with some ready-made iced coffee with caramel macchiato coffee creamer, all from Aldi. Both cold foam flavors are extremely sweet, which is good if you have a sweet tooth or want to help balance the bitter flavor of the coffee. The caramel cold foam has nice caramel notes, while the vanilla foam tastes like vanilla. I like the vanilla best, but, overall, both of these are good.
I also tried the vanilla cold foam on some hot tea, including Earl Grey, black decaf, and Trader Joe’s Organic Roasted Herbal Tea Coffee Alternative. It was good in all of these, giving my ordinary cup of hot tea some coffee shop vibes and a bit of sweetness. I’m not often a hot coffee drinker, but these would be good on hot coffee as well.
The Verdict:
Barissimo Cold Foam currently comes in sweet vanilla and caramel macchiato flavors at Aldi. If you’re looking for a way to dress up your usual iced coffee at home, this is a fun option. It’s also good for hot coffee or hot tea.
