L’Oven Fresh Protein Bread
For the past year or so, my husband and I have been on the lookout for better-for-us bread. Specifically, bread that has fewer simple carbs and sugar, and bread that has more fiber and whole grains. We’ve found a couple of loaves at Aldi that we like, including the Graintastic and Seedtastic breads, as well as the Knock Your Sprouts Off bread.
I recently found another loaf that looks really good. It’s a protein bread that advertises 6 grams of net carbs and “0g guilt.”
L’Oven Fresh Protein Bread is a Regular Buy, which means you should be able to find it at Aldi all year.
As with all Aldi products we review, I bought this myself. I paid $3.99 for an 18-ounce loaf at my local Aldi in 2025. That comes out to about 22 cents per ounce.
If you’re watching out for allergens, this contains wheat.
This is keto certified and is made with plant-based protein. It advertises that it’s made without soy or dairy.

The ingredients list includes water, wheat protein isolate, whole wheat flour, flax seeds, pea protein, sunflower seeds, wheat gluten, hemp seeds, and 2% or less of yeast, apple fiber powder, quinoa, chickpea flour, wheat bran, sunflower oil, raisin juice concentrate, salt, enriched wheat flour, preservatives (calcium propionate, sorbic acid), and vinegar.
One bag contains about nine 2-slice servings. One serving has 150 calories, 7 grams of total fat (9% DV), 1 gram of saturated fat (5% DV), 220 mg of sodium (10% DV), 10 grams of total carbohydrates (4% DV), 4 grams of dietary fiber (14% DV), 1 gram of total sugars, no added sugars, and 14 grams of protein.
This has a carbs-to-fiber ratio of 2.5:1, which is excellent. In fact, to date, I don’t think I’ve seen a bread at Aldi that has a better carbs-to-fiber ratio.
I also appreciate that this doesn’t include any added sugar, unlike some of the other healthier bread options at Aldi, including the Graintastic bread, that still contain a few grams of sugar. One potential tradeoff is that this bread isn’t organic like the Graintastic, Seedtastic, and Knock Your Sprouts Off loaves are at Aldi.
This bread tastes good. I initially tried it in a sandwich with some leftover roasted chicken with mayo, whole grain mustard, and sliced cheddar. The bread is soft, with lots of little flax seeds, sunflower seeds, and other grains. It’s delicious for sandwiches or for peanut butter toast, or any time you need bread.
The Verdict:
L’Oven Fresh Protein Bread has 14 grams of protein per serving, plus lots of fiber, making this a healthy bread option at Aldi. We also like how it tastes.
