Bauhn Wireless MagCharge Power Bank Bundle

Power banks are an essential accessory for anyone who is away from sockets for long periods of time. I took one to Disney World, for instance, and it pretty much kept me afloat in a park that forces me to rely on my phone. When I’m camping, I also bring one along, since more likely than not I’m staying on a basic site with no electricity.

Aldi has sold power banks over the years as a limited buy. In 2025, the grocer sold yet another one, this time with a twist. Because not only is it a power bank, but it’s one designed to work with devices that support wireless charging.

The Bauhn MagCharge Power Bank is an Aldi Find. Each store gets one shipment. Once the shipment is depleted, that’s it until stores get another shipment, which might happen next year or not at all. Because Aldi isn’t an online shipper, if you can’t find it in your stores, that’s the end of the story.

In 2025, the charger costs $19.99. That’s on the low end of prices on for power banks compared to those on Amazon.

A couple of notes about charging here.

• One, this bank is primarily used to charge wirelessly. There are ports for wired devices — more on this in a little bit — but if your device doesn’t do wireless you lose out on a core feature.
• This device is designed to work with MagSafe connections. MagSafe was developed by Apple and is now standard on most iPhones, but you can also get cases and attachments for other brands, including Android phones, that will let the device attach to MagSafe devices. We were able to use this bank with phones that didn’t have MagSafe rings on them, but it works a little better if you have a ring and there is a distinct benefit to the magnetic attachment that we’ll talk about. Ring adapters and ring cases are widely available, including on Amazon.

The charger comes with a 1-year warranty backed by SMTek Group, a third-party electronics supplier that services a number of retailers, including Walmart and Dollar General.

The package includes a power bank, USB-C cable, wall adapter, warranty card, and manual.

In taking it out of the package, I was impressed by how compact it is. It’s a slim battery pack, making it good for outings when storage is at a premium. The storage rating, 10,000 mAh, is not the biggest capacity I’ve seen by any stretch, but it’s pretty solid given the small profile of this bank and the fact that it can be attached to a phone.

To set it up, you first need to make sure it’s charged. You can do that by plugging the USB-C cable into the power bank on one end and the wall adapter on the other, then plug the adapter into a socket. Charging lights indicate how much it’s charged.

To use it, you first have to turn it on using a power button along the side. You’ll know it’s on because the indicator lights will turn on along the bottom, specifically a green light that shows it’s on. Once you’ve done that, it’s ready to use.

The primary charging mode is wireless. If you have a phone with a magnetic ring, you can sit it on top of the charger and it will lock into place and start charging. The magnet has enough of a pull that the device should stick to it with some use: I wouldn’t fling it around, but it seems to hold okay. The bank even has a kickstand on it that you can use to prop up your phone while still attached.

We tried phones with wireless charging capabilities but without magnetic rings, and they did charge. They don’t stick, though, so you lose some functionality that way.

We also tested out both USB ports on the bottom and they charge phones. In fact, we plugged in three phones to the bank — one wirelessly and two via the USB ports — and all charged simultaneously. We found that the power bank charged reasonably fast in all cases.

One thing we also noted: as is common with wireless chargers, devices can can get warm during wireless charging because of the way charging happens. That said, it’s a good idea to take a fully charged device off a wireless charger, something the manual for this device talks about. Our devices did get warm during charging.

The Verdict:

This Bauhn MagCharge Power Bank is a nifty device that has lots of potential. It’s compact, easy to use, and can charge both wirelessly and through wires. It’s probably ideal for phones with magnetic rings, and it sacrifices some power storage for its small profile, but for a portable power bank you could do a lot worse. It’s also quite inexpensive compared to other banks like this one. The 1-year warranty is a bonus.
