Disney Character Candle

Disney has one of the most cultlike fandoms we know of. The House of Mouse attracts over 140 million visitors each year to its theme parks worldwide, about a third of those to Disney World in Florida alone. Disney animated films routinely earn tons of attention each time they come out, to say nothing of other Disney-owned properties like Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel.

Aldi has its own cult, which is why it isn’t all that surprising that the grocer would be known to put Disney merch in its middle aisle from time to time. In the summer of 2025, we saw another round of Disney gear, including these big candles.

Disney Character Candles are an Aldi Find. Stores get a limited stock, and once that stock is sold out, you won’t be able to get them again until they come back … assuming they come back. Disney products don’t always appears again, so if you can’t find something at your store, you’re out of luck.

In 2025, the candles cost $14.99. The candles come in two styles: a Mickey style with teakwood and cedar scent and a Minnie style with a blushed cherry blossom scent. We picked up both styles, with our own money, to try out.

I looked online and could not easily find anything like it. That’s not a surprise, as the labels on the bottom note that these are Aldi-exclusive candles.

They’re big candles, in bowls with a small flat bottom. I would suggest making sure they’re packed in a way that they won’t roll around on the drive home or hit anything else.

Each of them comes in two pieces: the lid and the bowl. Both parts are ceramic. Each bowl has a candle with two wicks.

Each lid, meanwhile, has a rubber rim that helps it stick on the bowl, although I would not dare try to carry these by the lid.

As with any candle, we like to let them stay lit until they are melted across the bowl so the candle doesn’t just tunnel down the middle. We lit them both for a couple of hours to try them out.

They did the job. They’re really pretty candles, in our view, and look great wherever you might put them. Ours both lit without too much difficulty, and the scents are nice without being too overpowering. The Mickey teakwood and cedar scent and the Minnie style blushed cherry blossom set are different, but both are nice in their own contrasting way.

The Verdict:

If you’re a Disney fan, these are nifty looking ceramic bowls are a cool accent to any space. You can cover them with the lids when you’re not using them, or take the lid off and light them up. Given that they’re Aldi exclusives, if you want it and see it, you’ll probably want to buy it.
