EDITOR’S NOTE: We originally bought and reviewed this board in October of 2025. Aldi is selling the same board for the same price in 2026.

Aldi is known to put out lots of exercise equipment in the leadup to the New Year when many people are looking to get in shape after the holidays.
However, sometimes the grocer will drop fitness gear at other times of the year as well. That’s the case the first week of October of 2025, when Aldi is rolling out various yoga and Pilates equipment, including weight sets, yoga bolsters, yoga cushions, Pilates rings, yoga blocks, and more.
One larger item that caught our eye is a fitness reformer board. This is also sometimes referred to as a Pilates reformer or a Pilates board. Pilates reformers have been around for a while, but they appear to be trending on TikTok and other social media, and Aldi is always one to get in on a trend.
What is a Pilates board? It’s literally a board — often foldable — that features resistance bands inside two tracks with hand grips/foot pads. It allows you to do variations on planks, mountain climbers, lunges, and other common exercises. It also comes with detachable resistance bands to offer additional muscle toning.
The Crane Fitness Reformer Board is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores only for a short time. Each store should receive one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone. Aldi doesn’t offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store. This was scheduled to be in stores the week of October 1st, 2025.
I picked this up as soon as it became available in my local store, and I bought it with my own funds. The fitness reformer board cost $39.99 in 2025. [EDITOR’S NOTE: the price remains unchanged for 2026.] The Aldi board looks practically identical to some boards that cost upwards of $100 on Amazon, so this looks like a good deal.

This is sold under the Crane brand. That’s not a company. Rather, it’s the name Aldi puts on various fitness or sports products it sells, which it sources from different suppliers.
Unboxing the Reformer Board:

When you open the box, you’ll find the board itself. It’s folded in half, and you simply unfold it and set it flat on the floor. The board weighs around or just over 8 pounds, according to my bathroom scale. You’ll also get a knee pad, two-plug in handles, two plug-in resistance bands, and a user manual. The manual offers information about the various parts and how to attach them.

Using the Reformer Board:

Using the board is easy. I started with the exercises listed in the manual, but there are only a few listed, so I recommend going to YouTube or another platform for more ideas and for full workouts using reformer boards.

To start with, you can train using the board’s attached handles and the included knee pad. The handles twist to an upright position so you can grip them. Position the knee pad in front of the board, put your knees on the pad, and then rest your elbows on the pads on the board while gripping the handles. Then, push the handles forward against the resistance in the tracks and then pull them backward in a controlled manner.
Alternatively, you can place your hands on the knee pad and place your feet on the elbow pads on the board (after unlocking the board pads so they slide separately rather than together), and then move your legs alternately back and forth in a mountain climber exercise.

To change things up, attach the resistance bands. Then stand on the board, grip the bands, and pull upwards. Another exercise the manual lists is to attach the included handles to the board, then kneel on the pads on the board, grip the handles, and pull the pads toward your hands against the resistance with your knees.

Our Thoughts:
I regularly do free Pilates and strength training workouts with a specific physical therapist YouTube content creator, but those workouts all involve just a mat and some basic handheld weights. You can certainly do plenty without special equipment like this. Yet, it’s interesting to see how a reformer board can change up a workout.
I’ve found that if I’m doing an exercise that has me pushing against the pads on the board with my feet, sometimes the board will slide. That seems to be a common issue with some boards if they’re on the lighter side, and you can put one end against a wall or piece of furniture to help secure it.
The timer is a small but nice feature. Be sure to flip the board over to remove the paper safety strip before you first use the timer. You might actually need to unscrew the battery cover to remove the strip. The timer itself takes a little fiddling to get the hang of, but it’s not hard.
The plug-in handles on this board are a little finicky to get in and out, but maybe I’ll get better at that with time.
Finally, I appreciate that this board folds up so it can be stored under a bed or somewhere else out of the way.
The Verdict:
The Crane Fitness Reformer Board offers a different way to do a Pilates workout, with training for different muscle groups throughout the body. It includes plug-in resistance bands and plug-in handles to vary your workout, plus a user manual with some basic exercises. We recommend going to YouTube for more workout ideas. While there are ways to do Pilates without equipment like this, this board can be a way to change up your workout routine. We’re still putting the board through the paces, but so far we generally like it. We’ll update this post if we have additional thoughts down the road.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It seems pretty cool but I’m having a very hard time with that color 🤣🤣🤣
How do you release the handles to lay flat as they were when removing from the box?
