Aldi Introduces SOHL Sensory Table for Kids

This post is an open thread and contains affiliate links.

Many years ago, I spent some time working in an early childhood classroom. One of the more popular features in the room was the sensory table. It was a large open bin on legs, and it stood waist-high to a child.

We rotated different things in and out of the sensory table. One month, it might contain sand, little shovels, and small buckets. Another month, it might contain dried beans or uncooked rice and small plastic animals. You can put just about anything in a sensory table: play dough, LEGOs, cotton balls, beads, natural items such as leaves and pinecones, small toys, or even pieces of construction paper and child-sized scissors so kids can practice their cutting skills (with adult supervision).

Not only are sensory tables great for play and imagination, but they also help children develop fine motor skills as they use their hands to play and explore.

And now, Aldi is selling a sensory table just in time for the Christmas season. This one features several compartments of different sizes. It also looks like the cover is a surface that might be compatible with LEGOs.

What We Know:

SOHL Sensory Table

The SOHL Sensory Table is an Aldi Find. That means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store should receive one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.

The sensory table cost $49.99 in 2025. There aren’t many other cheaper options on Amazon.

SOHL Sensory Table

This is sold under the SOHL brand, which is not a company. Instead, it’s the name Aldi puts on furniture it sells, which it sources from various suppliers.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried this sensory table, so we don’t know how well it works or how sturdy it is. Also, Aldi has not shared specifics about the table in its weekly ad, so we don’t know the dimensions for the table. We write open threads like this one to give readers a place to discuss Aldi products.

I did purchase it. I have not assembled it, because it is a Christmas gift and I want to wait. But I am really curious on how well it is made. So, I may let my curiosity win, and build it tomorrow to give it a test run!

  2. I just bought one today! It is really nice. The bins are sturdy and won’t fall out if kiddo is pushing down hard. The holder in the middle is really nice for markers/crayons. The dry erase/LEGO toppers are solid. They wont bend if you’re drawing on top of the table. It does fit the LEGO brand blocks! Overall, great sensory table for the price.

  3. After purchasing one of these to try, we have purchased four more for our preschool program and the kids love them! They’re solid and are a great size. I even hacked an Ikea pegboard and attached it to the back of the table to expand the options for display and play.

  4. I bought one yesterday (1/28/26) for $12.99 at my local Aldi!!! We love it so far! The white square and the top of the wood is wipeable and we’ve had fun drawing with dry erase markers!

    1. Good deal. That’s a limited-time special that really lingered in your local store, considering it was stocked back in November.
