Park Street Deli Pico de Gallo

Jarred salsa regularly makes it into my shopping cart at Aldi. My family uses it with everything from scrambled eggs or omelets to tacos, burrito bowls, and taco salad.

Pico de gallo is something I have historically purchased less often, but I think I’ll be changing my habits. Pico de gallo is a fresh, uncooked salsa. You serve it with the same things you’d enjoy with jarred salsa, and this fresh blend of tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, and onions takes many dishes to the next level. I’m always looking for tasty ways to add more fresh produce to the menu, and this looks just right.

Aldi sells pico de gallo in mild and medium varieties. You’ll find them in the refrigerated aisle near the other dips and deli items. These are Regular Buys, so you should be able to find them all year at Aldi.

We buy Aldi products for review using our own money. I paid $3.29 for each 10-ounce package of Park Street Deli Pico de Gallo in 2026. That comes out to around 33 cents per ounce. There are about nine 2-tablespoon servings per package, which is about 37 cents per serving.

The packages list the U.S. and Mexico as countries of origin. The packages also state these are gluten free.

This pico de gallo is perishable and should be kept refrigerated. The packages I bought had best-by dates of a week out from my purchase date.

The medium pico de gallo contains Roma tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, serrano peppers, red onion, lime juice, and cilantro. In other words, the medium variety has everything the mild variety contains, with the addition of serrano peppers.

Both varieties have 5 calories per 2-tablespoon serving. One serving also has no fat or sodium, 1 gram of total carbohydrates (0% DV), no dietary fiber, 1 gram of total sugars, no added sugars, and no protein.

My family and I all prefer the mild pico de gallo, but some of us will eat the medium version if that’s all that’s available. The medium does has moderate spice.

My favorite way to enjoy this pico de gallo is in a burrito bowl. I use the microwavable pouches of brown rice and quinoa from Aldi as a base, and I add lettuce, seasoned meat, beans, shredded cheese, diced avocado, and anything other taco toppings that sound good.

This is also good added to scrambled eggs or omelets or used as a topping for tacos, nachos, and taco salad. The peppers add a bit of crunch, so the texture is different from jarred salsa.

We used up the mild pico de gallo pretty quickly. When the best-by date was approaching for the medium pico de gallo and I still had a little left, I added it to a slow cooker chicken tortilla soup, and it turned out great.

The Verdict:

Park Street Deli Pico de Gallo is a refrigerated fresh salsa that comes in mild and medium versions. The mild is excellent and not too spicy. Medium is good, too, with a definite kick. Serve this with anything you’d eat with jarred salsa.
