EDITOR’S NOTE: We purchased one of these bread makers when they arrived in our local stores and tested it out. You can read our full review here

My mom got a bread machine when I was a young teenager. She used it to make all kinds of homemade bread for family meals, and she had a bread machine cookbook with recipes for everything from wheat bread to French bread to apricot bread (a family favorite). One winter, I remember getting snowed in for several days, and some friends came to stay with us because the storm knocked out their power, and mom fired up the bread machine to help feed everyone. That homemade bread slathered with butter was the best, especially when it was still warm from the bread maker.

When I went away to college, I got a bread maker of my own and made fresh warm bread for friends. I still have that bread maker. It’s older now, and I’ve lost the manual. It also has a small dent on the outside from the time when it fell out of the family minivan one year when I was moving into my college dorm. It still works, though.

Recently, Aldi surprised me by advertising a bread maker of their own. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the discount grocer sell a bread maker before, so it caught my eye.

What We Know:

Ambiano Bread Maker

The Ambiano Bread Maker (Product Code: 709814) is an Aldi Find. That means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at some point. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products not currently in stock at your local store.

The bread maker cost $49.99 in September of 2023. Most bread makers on Amazon cost at least $70 or $80, with many in the $100s.

Here’s more information about the Aldi bread maker, according to Aldi:

  • Features 19 programs (recipes included)
  • Offers 3 loaf sizes
  • Features 3 browning levels
  • Includes measuring cup, measuring spoon, and dough hook
  • Features an LCD display
  • Includes a nonstick baking pan

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried this bread maker, but we plan to buy one and do a full review as soon as they arrive in our local Aldi stores. In the meantime, we write open threads so readers can discuss Aldi products.

  1. My decade-old Breadman just bit the dust and I couldn’t resist the Ambiano’s price. And I knew I could return it if it didn’t work out. But in the few days I’ve had it, using my own recipes for breads and pizza dough, it has worked out rather well. In fact, I’m impressed . . .

  2. I bought the breadmaker a few months ago….and I was very suspect of it at first but decided to give it a try – compared to other breadmakers, the price was so low I could not resist….Let me just say this makes AMAZING bread – ! Each and every time…I was beyond surprised and very impressed….I’ve been baking bread for years and will no longer make bread in the oven since discovering this handy device! This is the best thing I have purchased in years. I wish I would have bought one of these a long time ago….
