Aldi announced in a press release on May 2nd, 2024, that it is lowering prices on more than 250 products through Labor Day. The price reduction will nearly double the savings customers gained from a previous price drop in May of 2023.

Dave Rinaldo, President at Aldi US., stated, “ALDI is always looking for ways to help customers save money, but with more experts warning of persistent inflation, the time was right to deliver even greater discounts on our already low prices for the second year in a row. We don’t want food prices to hold people back from getting together with friends and family or spending time outdoors this season.”

The price drops apply to popular summer favorites such as barbecue and picnic foods, prepackaged portable snacks, and healthier foods. You’ll find sirloin steak and chicken breasts among the discounted items, along with organic granola bars, frozen blueberries (for smoothies), summer sausage, crackers, organic pinto and kidney beans, French baguettes, macarons, and more.

Aldi says its lean business model, which includes its cart deposit system and the fact that products are displayed on the shelves in the boxes they are shipped in, allows the store to save on operating expenses. It can then pass those savings along to shoppers. The Aldi way of doing business is successful enough that Aldi is adding 800 new stores in the U.S. during the next five years.

  1. The “Never Any” brand bacon certainly had a price bump UP this week! Not to mention the eggs.
