In the late summer, Aldi begins to roll out an array of back-to-school items, from dorm furniture, bedding, and accessories to school backpacks and lunch bags. The discount grocer also sells some fun accessories to help decorate kids’ bedrooms, perhaps to help create cozy studying and reading spaces for the academic year. Among the options this year are some cute animal-themed arm chairs for kids.

What We Know:

SOHL Furniture Kids' Arm Chairs

SOHL Furniture Kids’ Arm Chairs (product code 12540) sell for $19.99 each at the time of publication. Aldi also sold kids’ arm chairs in the fall of 2019 and 2020 for the same price.

The arm chairs are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials after they sell out at your local store, so if you want a chair, don’t delay.

Here’s more information about the chairs:

  • Available in Unicorn, Rainbow, Dinosaur, or Dog designs
  • Filled with foam beans
  • Each chair measures 19″ x 17″ x 20.5″

Some of these chairs match other kids’ accessories Aldi is currently selling, including some Huntington Home Character Backrests. I bought one of the backrests with the dog design on it last summer, and it’s adorable and has held up well over the past year. In the spring of this year, Aldi also sold SOHL Furniture Kids Character Stools that featured similar unicorn and dinosaur designs. In addition, Aldi sold Huntington Home Hooded Plush Throws last summer that featured the dinosaur, dog, and unicorn designs, among others, but we aren’t sure if Aldi will bring those throws back this year.

Regardless, it’s clear there are some recurring design themes going on here with the kids’ merchandise that Aldi rolls out through the year. Things like dinosaurs, dogs, and unicorns are likely to show up on a lot of kid products at Aldi. The rainbow arm chair design looks like a newer thing, so it remains to be seen whether that motif returns in another form such as on a blanket, stool, or kids’ bedding.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t gotten our hands on one of these chairs yet, so we don’t know how well they hold up or how comfortable they are to sit in. Our goal with posts such as this is to offer a space for readers to share about their own experiences with a product.
