If you’re trying to eat healthier or better manage your time, it can help to plan meals in advance and do some prep work ahead of time. That might mean doing some cooking or chopping produce at the start of the week and packing it all in individual daily portions, so you have meals ready to go — or ready to take to work or school — each day.
Or, you might just like eating out of containers that look like they came from your favorite local takeout restaurant.
Either way, Aldi sometimes sells plastic stackable meal prep containers that are perfect for packing individual lunches, dinners, or snacks.
What We Know:
Crofton 20-Piece Meal Prep Containers cost $4.99 at the time of publication. Aldi sold them in single compartment and double compartment options in late January of 2022, and then Aldi sold them both again in February of 2022.
They appear to be sold with 10 food trays and 10 lids, for a total of 20 pieces, which comes out to about 50 cents for a complete container. That looks to be comparable cost-wise to some other meal prep container sets on the market.
These are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. (And Aldi won’t ship them to you after they sell out at your local store.)
Fortunately, Aldi seems to sell these at least once a year, if not more often. So if you miss them, you probably only have to wait a few months to find them again. In recent years, Aldi sold meal prep containers in 20-piece or 30-piece sets in November of 2021, December of 2020, and September of 2020, all for $4.99 per set.
Here’s more information on the meal prep containers:
- Available in Single Compartment or Double Compartment
- A 20-piece set
- Perfect for on-the-go meals
- Ideal for meal planning and portion control
- Stackable and reusable
- Microwave safe
- Freezer safe
- Dishwasher safe
These don’t appear to come with a warranty or any kind of after-sales support, but I wouldn’t expect them to for the price.
What We Don’t Know:
We have not yet tried the Crofton 20-Piece Meal Prep Containers, so we can’t speak to how well they work or how durable they are. Our goal with open thread posts such as this one is to offer a space for readers to talk about their experiences with an Aldi product.
