EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi sold adult onesies again in October of 2023 for a slightly lower price of $14.99. The 2023 suits came in skeleton, dinosaur, bear, and pineapple designs.

For several years now, onesies have been all the rage. When 2020 struck, more people seemed to wear them, knowing they wouldn’t be leaving the house as often and wanting to wear things that were comfortable. And onesies aren’t just a kid thing. All you need is a quick search on Amazon to find adult-size onesies. I’ve owned a few in my life, from dinosaurs to koalas, and they’ve been some of my favorite lounge wear items. Aldi has figured this trend out, and just prior to Halloween this year, they released several union suits.

The Aldi Union Suit is an Aldi Find, meaning it’s only in stores for a limited time, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Stores will not restock these when they sell out. Aldi also does not offer online ordering for items that aren’t at your local store.

There’s no brand name on the suits. However, the Aldi website stated the adult suits are Crane, and the kids are Lily and Dan, which are both Aldi private labels. The styles are the same for kids and adults, though the colors may vary.

The adult suits are $16.99, which is significantly cheaper than similar suits on Amazon, which are often around $30. And the kids suits are cheaper as well, being only $9.99. In 2022, Aldi sold a unicorn, shark, dinosaur, and skeleton.

I purchased the women’s unicorn suit in a medium. In adult sizes, they were available in S, M, L, and XL. For women, a small claims it fits sizes 4-6, a medium fits sizes 8-10, a large fits sizes 12-14, and an extra large fits sizes 16-18.

When I first tried the suit on, my initial impressions were good. The pattern of diagonal stripes and stars is nice, and the fact that it has a tail, as well as a hood with eyes, ears, and a horn, was fun.

The suit is 100% polyester and is OEKO-TEX certified. It can be washed in cold water on the gentle cycle and tumbled dry on low heat.

These are advertised as Halloween items, though that’s not all they could be used for. They are popularly used as pajamas, and that’s what I’ve used them for in the past. This suit is soft on the inside, and it would be good for Halloween as it gets colder.

My only real complaint is the sizing. I normally wear a women’s medium, but the legs and arms were a bit tight and short with this suit while the main body section has plenty of room. I’ve had issues with sizing in the past with Aldi clothing, so I was prepared for something like this to happen. I could size up to a large, but it may be too big then.

Other than that, I like the suit. Apparently, other Aldi shoppers like it as well because while I was handing out candy to trick or treaters on Halloween night, I spotted a young girl from my neighborhood wearing the child-sized version of this Aldi unicorn suit.

The Verdict:

The Aldi ladies; and children’s union suits are an Aldi Find and are themed around the Halloween season. Overall they’ll do the job as a costume or as something to relax or sleep in at home. Other than the sizing running a bit small, I don’t have any regrets with it, and I like it enough I’ll probably wear it through the winter months.
