Each week, we round up the biggest stories in the international world of Aldi. Here’s what we’ve been reading:
United Kingdom: Gunman Flees Without Shoe After Botched Aldi Robbery
A man tried to rob an Aldi store early Wednesday and ended up biting an employee and then running from the scene without a shoe, hat, and his firearm.
Police think the man disabled the store’s CCTV before attacking staff. Three employees tried to hold the man down, and that’s when one employee was bitten. The suspect was hit in the face before fleeing the store in Newcastle.
Officers are searching for the suspect, a white male, in about his mid-thirties, slender, and about six feet tall. He has a scruffy beard and a local accent, and his face may have a cut from the confrontation with store workers.
Anyone with information can call Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 133 130219.

United Kingdom: Family Dairy Extends Partnership with Aldi
The Scottish milk producer, Graham’s The Family Dairy, inked a five-year partnership with Aldi that is worth about £55 million (about $71 million in U.S. dollars).
Aldi had an existing long-term agreement with the dairy going back to 2010, and this new partnership extends that. The Scottish dairy’s milk will continue to be carried in all 85 Aldi stores in Scotland. Graham’s supplies stores across the U.K. with products that include skyr yogurt, cottage cheese, and quark. In Scotland, the dairy also supplies milk, butter, natural yogurt, and cultured creams to Aldi stores.
Aldi says it is dedicated to supporting Scottish farmers and offering local products.
