Burman’s Butter Chicken Curry Sauce
Aldi sells a trio of unique sauces that are often staples when I do meal planning. You’ll find them tucked onto the shelves among the marinades, stir fry sauces, Asian barbecue sauce, and mayo and other condiments. They’re simmer sauces that come in butter chicken curry, tikka masala curry, and korma curry varieties. We like them all.
Here, we’re focusing in on the butter chicken curry sauce. The label describes this as “a creamy tomato curry sauce made with butter and a variety of spices including smoked paprika.”
Burman’s Butter Chicken Curry Sauce is a Regular Buy. That means you should be able to find it at Aldi all year. It’s stocked on the room-temperature shelves near the other marinades and various sauces.
I paid $3.69 for a 15-ounce jar in 2026. That comes out to about 25 cents per ounce. We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds.
This is a product of the United Kingdom.

Preparing and Serving the Butter Chicken Sauce:
There are several ways to cook and serve this sauce. The jar recommends heating oil in a sauté pan and adding chicken seasoned with salt and pepper. Brown the chicken evenly, and then add onions and other veggies and the entire jar of sauce. Cover the pan and let it simmer over low heat for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. It suggests enjoying with rice.
The label on the jar also says you can pour this sauce over a roast and bake it, or put it in a slow cooker with protein and vegetables of your choice.
Regardless of how you prepare this, shake it well before using. Once opened, refrigerate any leftover sauce and consume within three days.
Our Thoughts:

My preferred way to cook this is to sauté two diced chicken breasts in a pan. I add a little salt and pepper as the chicken is cooking. Once the chicken is cooked, I add the whole jar of sauce and heat it thoroughly until it’s lightly bubbling. I serve it with with basmati rice, riced cauliflower, naan, and mini samosas.
The label describes this as mild. It’s not spicy. My family likes this the best of all the jarred Indian-style sauces at Aldi. It’s got good flavor and is a good option any time we want a meal with Indian restaurant vibes but without the restaurant bill.
The Verdict:
Burman’s Butter Chicken Curry Sauce is a creamy tomato-based sauce loaded with spices. (But it’s not spicy!) If you like Indian food, serve this with chicken or other protein of your choice for a tasty easy meal. This is the best of the jarred Indian-inspired sauces at Aldi, in our opinion.
