Huntington Home 500 Thread Count Sheet Set
EDITOR’S NOTE: See our update near the bottom of this post on how the sheets have performed after some use.
Several times a year, Aldi sells everything you need to make up a bed. The discount grocer sells twin sheets and comforters and blankets, and they also sell pillows, as well as sheets, blankets, and comforters for queen- or king-sized beds. I’ve purchased queen-sized sheets from Aldi in the past, but it’s been a few years, so when I needed some new sheets recently and saw some on the shelves at Aldi, I decided to try them once again.
The Huntington Home 500 Thread Count Sheet Set (product code 14687) cost $34.99 at the time of publication. If you’re on a budget, you can find sheets that cost less, but similar sets often cost more.
These are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so once these sell out at your local store, that’s it until next time.
I bought the queen-sized set, and the contents are:
- 1 flat sheet: 90 inches by 102 inches
- 1 fitted sheet: 60 inches by 80 inches
- 2 pillowcases: 20 inches by 30 inches
Here are a few specifications about this particular sheet set:
- Available in queen or king sizes
- Antibacterial, antifungal, and odor resistant
- Available in white or gray
- Made of 58% Cotton, 42% Polyester
- Fits mattresses up to 18″ deep
- OEKO-TEX certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 300 substances
- Made in India
This set is machine washable using cold water and the gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low heat and low iron if necessary.
These sheets work fine on my queen-sized bed. Sometimes fitted sheets from Aldi are too loose on my mattress, but these fit fine — not too floppy and not tight. They’re reasonably soft, and the white color goes with any bedding I pair it with. Overall, I’m happy with these.
UPDATE (6/18/2021) — The fitted sheet in this set keeps sliding off the corners of my mattress, and I have to repeatedly tug it back on. My mattress is about 9 inches deep, and this fitted sheet is supposed to fit mattresses up to 18 inches deep, so I’m not sure if the problem is that my mattress is on the thinner side, or if the fitted sheet just isn’t great overall.
The Verdict:
The Huntington Home 500 Thread Count Sheet Set comes in a few colors and in queen or king sizes. We like how this sheet set looks and feels, but unfortunately the fitted sheet keeps sliding off our mattress.
We bought one cotton queen Huntington sheet set at our Aldi store, and fit our sleep number better than any sheet set we have tried and went back later to buy more but unfortunately, they were out.
