Huntington Home PEVA Shower Curtain Liner

Shower curtain liners are something that need replacing from time to time. They tend to develop mold or mildew spots or, depending on the water where you live, they might develop stains from minerals in your tap water. There are only so many times I can wipe down or launder my shower curtain liners before I need to replace them.

I’ve bought shower curtain liners from a lot of different retailers over the years, from a cheap $3 liner from Target to a heavy duty liner from Dollar General. I’ve even gotten shower curtain liners from Aldi as part of a set that included a shower curtain, curtain liner, and metal hooks. I’m still using the Aldi shower curtain, although I retired that particular liner when it tore after a year of use, and the hooks rusted after a couple of years.

I recently needed to replace the shower curtain liner again, and Aldi came through for me.

The Huntington Home Peva Shower Curtain Liner is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives just one shipment, and it’s gone after that sells out, until whenever Aldi might decide to bring it back. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are out of stock at your local store.

This cost $5.99 at the time of publication. You won’t find them much cheaper from other retailers such as Amazon. As mentioned earlier, you can find basic $3 liners at Target, but I think the Aldi liner is a bit nicer. More on that below.

Here’s more information about the Aldi liner, according to the packaging:

  • Dimensions: 70″ x 72″
  • 100% PEVA
  • Mildew resistant
  • Features rustproof metal grommets
  • Includes reinforced mesh header
  • Hem secures with magnets
  • Suction cups keep liner firmly against the wall
  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth

The liner was available in clear, white, and gray. I bought the gray version. It almost has a slight green tint to it, which goes well with my green shower curtain.

The package mentions this is made of 100% PEVA. This is also known as polyethylene vinyl acetate, which is a non-chlorinated vinyl that is a considered a safer alternative to PVC (polyvinyl chloride). PEVA is commonly used in shower curtains and other consumer products such as children’s toys, mattress protectors, shoes, plastic tablecloths, and more.

This is a good liner for the price. It’s thicker than some others I’ve used. It also isn’t too rigid or bulky like some cheaper liners are, so it hangs nicely without sticking out or feeling stiff.

Like many shower curtain liners, this includes two sets of suction cups on either end to help hold the liner in place on the shower wall. The suction cups actually stick out from the liner, making them easy to use.

Of all the shower curtain liners I’ve bought over the years, this is one of the nicer ones. The only thing that remains to be seen is hold well it holds up. I’ll update this post as necessary with any new developments.

The Verdict:

The Huntington Home PEVA Shower Curtain Liner feels like a nicer liner than its $6 price tag might indicate. It’s thick without feeling stiff or bulky, and the suction cup placement is better than we’ve seen on most other liners we’ve used. If you need a shower curtain liner, this one is worth considering.

  1. I bought this liner and it is much nicer than a so called “premium” labeled liner that I bought from Walmart (and returned)
