Mama Cozzi’s Cheese Stuffed Crust Nacho Cheese Chicken Pizza
Cinco de Mayo is coming, and that means Aldi is stocking all kinds of Mexican-inspired foods for the holiday. Some are more authentic, such as enchiladas, street taco kits, and specialty salsa.
Other items are not exactly what you’d find at a traditional Cinco de Mayo celebration. That includes a stuffed crust nacho cheese chicken pizza. This pizza features a thick crust stuffed with mozzarella cheese. It’s topped with a nacho cheese sauce, mozzarella cheese, and diced chicken.
Mama Cozzi’s Cheese Stuffed Nacho Cheese Chicken Pizza is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a limited time. Each store receives one shipment of stock, and after that is sold out, this pizza is gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at a later date.
This cost $6.99 for a 29.25-ounce pizza at the time of publication. That’s about 2 cents per ounce.
This has a lengthy ingredients list that includes plenty of processed items. If you’re looking out for allergens, this contains wheat, milk, and soy.
One serving (1/6 of the pizza) has 360 calories, 17 grams of total fat (22% DV), 8 grams of saturated fat (40% DV), 740 mg of sodium (32% DV), 39 grams of total carbohydrates (14% DV), 1 gram of dietary fiber (4% DV), 3 grams of total sugars, 2 grams of added sugars (4% DV), and 14 grams of protein.
The box has directions for baking this pizza in a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the pizza from the packaging. Place the pizza directly on the center rack in the preheated oven. (I placed my pizza on a special pizza pan.) Bake for 20-23 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.
My pizza was done after about 20-21 minutes in the oven. My family had mixed feelings about this pizza. I thought the nacho cheese sauce was a little on the bland side, but other people thought it was fine. This pizza is not spicy at all. It has a thick crust that is bready and not the most flavorful, which is the case with most Aldi cheese stuffed crust pizzas. It has plenty of cheese on top, and it has a decent amount of diced chicken. It’s not a bad pizza, although I wish the sauce had more flavor or kick to it.
The Verdict:
Mama Cozzi’s Cheese Stuffed Nacho Cheese Chicken Pizza features a thick crust with the edges filled with mozzarella cheese. It’s topped with a mild — not spicy at all — nacho cheese sauce, mozzarella cheese, and diced chicken. This pizza is decent, but I wish the nacho cheese sauce had more nacho cheese flavor.
