If there’s anything I’ve learned during my time as a homeowner, it’s that we can almost always use additional storage. Whether it’s in the basement or the garage, we always have tools, camping gear, holiday decorations, craft supplies, and more that need to be stashed somewhere. We also have an emergency food and water supply, along with things like extra toilet paper and paper towels that need to be stored.

I like the chrome shelves Aldi sometimes sells. They’re sturdy, large, and hold a lot of weight.

Then recently, I saw a tall storage cabinet or utility cabinet in the weekly Aldi ad. It looks like it can hold a good amount of stuff, and it has the benefit of having doors that can be closed to hide everything.

What We Know:

WORKZONE 3-Shelf Tall Cabinet

The WORKZONE 3-Shelf Tall Cabinet (Product Code: 810718) cost $79.99 in March of 2023. That’s a lot cheaper than similar utility cabinets on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at some later point. Aldi doesn’t offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your local store.

This is sold under the WORKZONE brand, which is not a separate company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for various tools and workshop or garage accessories such as foldable workbenches, rechargeable LED work lights, torque wrenches, and more.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t purchased this cabinet, so we don’t know how easy it is to assemble or how durable it is. Aldi also has not yet published any information about the size or dimensions of this cabinet, or whether it comes with any kind of warranty of after-sale service. We write open threads so readers can discuss Aldi products.

  1. It’s beyond me why Aldi doesn’t post dimensions for products where dimensions are an obvious feature of interest.

    • We agree. I’m sure the dimensions will be printed on the package once the cabinet arrives in stores, but Aldi online advertising doesn’t have any information.

  2. I bought this and assembled it today. It is not worth anywhere near $80 in my opinion. But since I spent a couple hours of time putting it together I am going to keep it. Made in Italy…that was a surprise.

  3. I bought this cabinet, as well, and assembled it by myself (I am a 71-year old woman). It was easy to assemble. However, you need more than a screwdriver if you want to put the door handles on. You need a drill to drill through the plastic doors where the holes are to put the handles on. There is no way you can use a regular screwdriver to do this. I did not find it cheap, as another reviewer did. Does it look like real wood? No. But is it sturdy? Yes. Says each shelf will hold 30 lbs. I have a bread maker and crock pot on one shelf and there are no problems. (If you are wondering what something weighs, look it up on Amazon and you will find the weight of any item in the description). For $80, I do not think this is a bad cabinet. Others on Amazon, of same quality, cost much more. I don’t regret my purchase.

  4. For those wondering about dimensions. I already recycled the box, but I measured the finished cabinet. Here are the dimensions:
    68″ high
    27″ wide
    15″deep

  5. As noted in one of the posted comments with the measurements, this is a very standard size cabinet. Most others measure out about the same. Very good deal.

  6. per this picture the dimensions are 26.5 x 15.2 x 67.5 in

  7. Home Depot has something similar but sturdier looking for $74.99. Not everything at Aldi is a great bargain. This was one of my worst buys.

  8. I bought this thinking it is something made of metal for my garage/basement because I am a fan of Aldi and every week I buy new things from there. But found this is a cheap plastic product and started to not liking while assembling. I want to return this to store. After trying to box almost one hour I felt, it is impossible to pack all the items back to the box. How can we do it? Or can I return it without packing all the items in the box?

  9. this shelf has a “paper cardboard” back.! why have a lock on the front if it has a paper back??

    i am taking it back

  10. Hard to assemble because part names are in same color as part that they label. Already broke a plastic piece for one of the shelves. Very few words in the instructions; just pictures which I found confusing.

  11. I bought 1 and it already had some broken pieces so I returned it.

  12. I am not as excited upon opening it as I was buying it. It’s cheaply made plastic and the assembly instruction are useless.
I searched for a youtube to assemble it but there is nothing out there.
    Havve buyer’s remorse

  13. I bought two of the units, and for less than the 79.99 price. I should have bought more, the assembly was easy and for the money I paid, well worth the price.
