Belmont Cheesecake Bites

Cheesecake is one of the most popular desserts. Its versatility — you can eat it plain, or with toppings or mix-ins such as fruit or chocolate — means that no matter what your taste preferences are, you can probably find a cheesecake flavor you’ll like.

If you want to satisfy your craving for cheesecake, Aldi can help you do so on a budget. The grocer sells some individually portioned sliced cheesecake options year round, and Aldi rotates a variety of whole cheesecakes into its stores for limited periods throughout the year. Also, during the winter months Aldi sells cheesecake bites.

Belmont Cheesecake Bites

Belmont Cheesecake Bites cost $9.99 for a 17.5-oz. box at the time of publication. With three servings in a box, that comes out to about $3.33 per serving.

These are a Seasonal Favorite, which means they’re only in stores for a few months, not year round. I bought these in December to serve as a dessert on Christmas day.

These come in a box with 24 cheesecake bites, and the box has three different flavors: New York Style, Strawberry Swirl, and Turtle.

The package states: “Made with real cream cheese, these bite-sized cheesecake pieces come in our most popular flavors. Decadent and rich, they are the perfect indulgence for a party or individual snack.”

These are sold frozen and are kosher. When you’re ready to eat them, simply thaw them and serve.

My family ate these limited-time bites along with the two-slice single-serving cheesecake packs Aldi stocks year round in its freezer section, so we were able to compare the two. These bites taste a little different from the slices, and my family thought the cheesecake bites had a softer consistency compared to the slices. Overall, we slightly preferred the Regular Buy slices over the cheesecake bites, but the bites are still good.

One serving of cheesecake bites is six pieces. The box contains six pieces of each of the three flavors, for a total of 18 cheesecake bites.

These are definitely decadent, with high amounts of saturated fat and added sugar. Their primary ingredient, not surprisingly, is cream cheese, and you can click on the photo below to view all of the ingredients.

New York Style Cheesecake

This is your classic original, ungarnished cheesecake. If you don’t want fancy flavors or toppings, this flavor is for you. I preferred the taste of the Regular Buy New York Style cheesecake slices from Aldi over these New York Style bites, which I thought had a bit of an odd aftertaste, but the rest of my family liked these just fine.

A six-bite serving of this New York Style Cheesecake has 430 calories, 29 grams of total fat (37% DV), 17 grams of saturated fat (85% DV), 320 mg of sodium (14% DV), 35 grams of total carbohydrates (13% DV), 26 grams of total sugars, 24 grams of added sugars (48% DV), and 7 grams of protein.

If you’re watching out for allergens, this contains egg, milk, soy, and wheat. It may also contain tree nuts (almonds, coconut, pecans, and walnuts) and peanuts.

Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake

This flavor was popular in my family. It features classic cheesecake swirled with gel-like ribbons of strawberry filling. My family felt like the strawberry cheesecake bites had a different kind of filling than the strawberry cheesecake slices Aldi sells. The slices do not have strawberry gel in them, but instead they seem to have actual strawberry-flavored cheesecake swirled into them, and the slices tasted slightly sweeter to us. My family liked both the bites and the slices, though.

A six-bite serving of this Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake has 450 calories, 27 grams of total fat (35% DV), 16 grams of saturated fat (80% DV), 320 mg of sodium (14% DV), 43 grams of total carbohydrates (16% DV), 32 grams of total sugars, 28 grams of added sugars (56% DV), and 7 grams of protein.

If you’re watching out for allergens, this contains egg, milk, soy, and wheat. It may also contain tree nuts (almonds, coconut, pecans, and walnuts) and peanuts.

Turtle Cheesecake

This is classic cheesecake topped with caramel, chocolate, and pecans with a chocolate crust. This differs from the turtle cheesecake slices Aldi also sells, which have a thick, rich, and somewhat chewy top layer of caramel embedded with chocolate bits and pecans. Instead, the turtle cheesecake bites have a softer top layer covered with less caramel and fewer toppings in general.

A six-bite serving of this Turtle Cheesecake has 460 calories, 29 grams of total fat (37% DV), 16 grams of saturated fat (80% DV), 270 mg of sodium (12% DV), 45 grams of total carbohydrates (16% DV), 33 grams of total sugars, 31 grams of added sugars (62% DV), and 7 grams of protein.

If you’re watching out for allergens, this contains egg, milk, pecans, soy, and wheat. It may also contain tree nuts (almonds, coconut, and walnuts) and peanuts.

The Verdict:

Belmont Cheesecake Bites come in a single box with three flavors: New York Style, Strawberry Swirl, and Turtle. They’re all good, and it’s fun to sample the variety of flavors without necessarily indulging in all the calories that come with a full slice of cheesecake. My family slightly prefers the taste and consistency of the sliced cheesecake Aldi sells over these bites, but they’re still a good choice if you want cheesecake.

  1. I’m interested in the Best Buy date. How long is it from the actual manufacturing of the product?
