The Halloween Collection Wax Warmer + KIRKTON HOUSE Wax Melts

It’s mid-August, and where I live it’s still blistering hot. But the stores all seem to think this is the perfect time to start getting ready for fall.

This week, Aldi released the first of many waves of fall and Halloween decor that will continue through the next two months. I was really excited about this year because, based on what Aldi released this week, there seems to be a big pastel influence, which is very much my style. A few items in particular caught my eye, including a wax melt warmer and some Halloween-themed wax melts.

The Halloween Collection Wax Warmer is $9.99, and the Kirkton House Wax Melts are $3.99 for a package. We bought these with our own funds.

Both items are Aldi Finds, meaning they’re only in stores for a limited time. Each store gets one shipment, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. You can’t order these products online if they’re not in stock at your local store.

The Halloween Collection seems to be a new house brand from Aldi, similar to the store’s Christmas house brand, Merry Moments.

There were three variations of the wax warmer: a ghost, a haunted mansion, and ombre stacked pumpkins. There were four styles of wax melts: bats, cats, pumpkins, and skeletons.

I purchased the ghost wax warmer, along with the cat and skeleton wax melts.

What comes inside the wax warmer box.

The wax warmer has a warming bulb in it, plus a switch on the cord to turn it on. It has to be plugged into an outlet, meaning it doesn’t use batteries. The packaging advertises no flames or smoke, is easy and safe to use, and has a 25 watt bulb.

There are also instructions on the back of the box for how to use the warmer.

  • Add the scented wax melts and turn on.
  • Fragrance will be released as wax melts.
  • Allow wax to cool until solid, and remove.
  • To clean, wipe with a dry cloth.

The warmer comes in two parts. There’s the ghost itself, and then there’s the ceramic dish that sits on top and holds the wax melts. The bottom has a soft pad so the warm ceramic doesn’t make contact with the table surface.

When lit, the warmer doesn’t give off an intense glow, but it advertises a “relaxing glow” on the packaging. It glows the most around the ghost’s arms and in the folds around the base. It’s really pretty when lit, not to mention how cute the ghost is with its bow and trick-or-treat basket. It only took a few minutes for the wax to start giving off scent, and the entire ghost warms pretty quickly. Be careful because the warmer gets really hot, especially near the top.

Despite what the box says, it’s difficult to get the wax out when it’s fully hardened. I’d recommend turning the warmer back on for a few minutes, just enough to make the wax soft and flexible, which makes it easier to pull out in one piece.

I don’t have any complaints about this warmer. It’s cute and functional, so if you’re looking for a way to get an aroma in your home without dealing with lit flames, this is a great choice.

Side note: Check your ghost before you buy it, as the blush painted on our ghost’s cheeks was off center.

These Halloween wax melts are under the Aldi house brand KIRKTON HOUSE, which recently included much of Aldi’s dorm decor, including neon signs and curtain lights.

There are nine melts in each pack, in three colors, with three of each color. The total weight of each box is 3 ounces, or 85 grams. The cats come with three purple, three orange, and three black. The skeletons come with three purple, three green, and three really light pink, almost white, skulls.

The cats are supposed to smell like “Purr-fect Pumpkin,” and the skeletons are supposed to smell like “Candied Apples,” but they all have a similar smell. They all give off a sweet, pumpkin spice scent. I personally prefer the skeletons over the cats because they have a stronger smell.

All of the wax melts have scratch and sniff stickers on the front of the boxes so you can preview the scent, which I haven’t seen Aldi do before.

The skeletons have a more defined shape than the cats, but keep in mind these wax melts will the lose their shapes once they melt and will just become a wax disk.

We used three skeleton melts as our test batch, and they started giving off a scent in just a few minutes. The scent is strong, so I’d recommend keeping the warmer on until you get the desired intensity, then turn off the warmer. The scent will linger for a long time.

Overall, the wax melts are cute, and you can’t go wrong with any of the scents or designs.

The Verdict:

The Halloween Collection Wax Warmer and KIRKTON HOUSE Wax Melts are Aldi Finds, and both exceeded my expectations. Both the warmer and melts are on the cheaper end of what you’ll find from other retailers, and they’re a great way to start welcoming the fall season.
