Trader Joe’s Shrimp Seafood Burgers
I love shellfish such as crab, shrimp, and scallops. There’s one particular item that has caught my eye a few times at Trader Joe’s, which is a cousin to Aldi. It’s these shrimp burgers that are stocked in the freezer aisle.
During my most recent Trader Joe’s shopping trip, I finally decided to pick these up and try them.
Trader Joe’s Shrimp Seafood Burgers cost $7.99 for a 12.8-ounce box of four burgers in 2025. That comes out to about $2 per burger. We buy products for review using our own funds.
These are a product of Vietnam.
If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain pollock and shrimp.
The full ingredients list isn’t long: shrimp, pollock, sunflower oil, rice flour, salt, garlic powder, and spices. It would be useful to know what “spices” are in these burgers.
Nutritionally, these look pretty good. One 91-gram burger has 90 calories, 4 grams of total fat (5% DV), 2 grams of saturated fat (10% DV), 210 mg of sodium (9% DV), 1 gram of total carbohydrates (0% DV), less than 1 gram of dietary fiber (3% DV), no total sugars or added sugars, and 13 grams of protein.

The box has directions for cooking these from frozen on a grill, pan frying them, or baking in a conventional oven.
To grill, preheat the grill over medium heat. Thoroughly spray or oil the grill. Cook burgers for 4 minutes per side or until the shrimp turn opaque and reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
To pan fry, preheat a skillet to medium heat and add a little oil. Cook burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn opaque and reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
To bake, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Spray or oil a baking sheet. Place burgers on the sheet and bake on the center rack for 7-8 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn opaque and reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

These are packed individually in plastic wrap, so you can take out the number of burgers you need. The burgers are uncooked and gray when you take them out of the box.

I pan fried these. The burgers hold together well during the cooking process, so I think they would do fine cooking on a grill, as long as you oil the grill well.
We liked how these turned out. They reminded us somewhat of salmon burgers or a fish sandwich, but they’re also different and have their own unique flavor and texture. My husband said he actually likes these better than salmon burgers. They have noticeably large chunks of shrimp, and they’re well seasoned.
I served the shrimp burgers on toasted burger buns from Trader Joe’s, and we put a little mayonnaise and some sliced tomato and lettuce on them. These are good enough that you could also enjoy them without a bun for a lower carb meal. I think I’ll be buying these again.
The Verdict:
Trader Joe’s Shrimp Seafood Burgers feature large pieces of shrimp, along with pollock, garlic, and other spices. These burgers hold together well and taste great. They may become a regular in our shopping cart when we visit Trader Joe’s.
