Trader Joe’s Simply Nutty Bars

I don’t buy many granola bar types of snacks anymore because they’re often loaded with added sugar.

There are a few exceptions. I sometimes pick up Aldi Elevation Only Bars — which are dupes of name-brand KIND Bars — when my family is going on a road trip and needs some easy snacks or quick breakfast items. Or, I might buy the Aldi Elevation Pure & Simple Bars — which are dupes of name-brand Lärabar fruit and nut bars and don’t have any added sugar.

When I was browsing the aisles recently at Trader Joe’s, which is a cousin to Aldi, I found some nut and dark chocolate bars that looked good in terms of nutrition. With only 3 grams of added sugar per serving, along with 7 grams of dietary fiber, I felt good about dropping these in my shopping cart.

We buy products for review using our own funds. I paid $4.99 for each 7-ounce box of Trader Joe’s Simply Nutty Bars in 2026. That comes out to about 71 cents per ounce. With five bars per box, it’s around $1 per bar.

These Trader Joe’s bars look similar in style and substance to name-brand KIND Bars and Aldi Elevation Only Bars. For comparison, Elevation Only Bars cost $4.75 for an 8.46-ounce box of six bars at my local Aldi in 2026. That’s about 56 cents per ounce, and around 80 cents per bar.

The Trader Joe’s bars are kosher.

These TJ’s bars have a carbs-to-fiber ratio of 2, which is very good. Depending on what flavor variety you get, the Trader Joe’s bars may slightly beat out other brands like the Aldi Elevation Only and name-brand KIND bars in terms of minimal added sugar and lots of dietary fiber. The Trader Joe’s bars are also a mid-priced option, costing more than the Aldi bars and less than KIND bars.

As far as what these taste like, they’re also good. They have plenty of nuts and just the right amount of chocolate to add sweetness.

The Verdict:

Trader Joe’s Simply Nutty Bars feature a variety of nuts with a light coating of dark chocolate for the perfect mix of crunch and sweetness. We like that these are low in sugar and high in dietary fiber, and you can feel good about enjoying them.
