Observing Lent at Aldi

Aldi has a lot of good seafood options throughout the year, including shrimp, salmon, tilapia, cod, and fish sticks. But during Lent, which begins on March 6 this year, a number of new Special Buy (ALDI Find) seafood items show up in Aldi’s freezer and refrigerator cases in addition to Regular Buy selections. Here is our roundup of some of this year’s ALDI Find Lenten dinner options at Aldi.

We’ll update as Aldi adds new products each week, so be sure to check back here later. Also keep in mind that these products are only available while supplies last, so you may not be able to purchase them throughout the entire season of Lent.

  1. I wish they would bring back the Salmon Chipotle burgers. Loved those things.

  2. I’m generally disappointed in the origin of Aldi seafood. Typically farm-raised in China, Vietnam, or India. I’ve even seen where it is caught in Alaska and then sent to China for processing. Caveat Emptor!

The large sea scallops seem to be the one exception.
