Le Creuset Dupe Crofton Cast Iron Braiser Coming to Aldi

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2026.

Enameled cast iron cookware is a thing at Aldi. There can be a lot to like about these kitchen pieces. They don’t require the maintenance and seasoning of traditional cast iron cookware. Also, there are no worries about cooking tomatoes or other acidic foods in enameled cast iron, whereas it can ruin the seasoning in regular cast iron and can impart a metallic flavor.

I’ve seen Aldi sell various types of enameled cast iron cookware, ranging from oval roasters to French ovens to bread ovens. All of these have been imitations — or dupes — of expensive name-brand Le Creuset cookware.

Le Creuset is a French brand established in 1925 and known for its handcrafted colorful enameled cast iron pots, pans, skillets, and more. I know people who own and love Le Creuset products. However, you’ll pay a high price to own a piece of this name-brand cookware. A single product typically costs more than $100, and sometimes Le Creuset products cost several hundred dollars a piece, depending on what you’re getting.

This is where Aldi comes in. The discount grocer has steadily rolled out Le Creuset knockoffs that cost a fraction of what the name brand does. The most recent Le Creuset dupe to show up at Aldi is a cast iron braiser.

What We Know:

Crofton Cast Iron Braiser

The Crofton Cast Iron Braiser is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store should receive one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are out of stock at your local store.

This is currently scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores May 6th, 2026.

The Crofton Cast Iron Braiser cost $24.99 in May of 2026. That’s down from $26.99 in November of 2025. It was $24.99 from 2023 through 2025.

The 2026 braiser has either a cast iron lid or a transparent lid, depending on which color you purchase.

The current Aldi version most closely resembles the Le Creuset Signature Braiser. If you were to buy a single Le Creuset braiser, it would set you back several hundred dollars. You’ll also pay a lot for any Le Creuset braiser you find on Amazon.

The Aldi braiser is sold under the Crofton name, which is not a manufacturer. Instead, Crofton is the private label Aldi uses for various kitchen products.

Aldi recently redesigned its website and is not currently sharing details about most upcoming Aldi Finds. Here’s what we know from previous years when Aldi has sold cast iron braisers, although we can’t guarantee these details about the same for the 2026 braiser.

  • Interior diameter: 11.85 inches
  • Holds up to 3.7 quarts
  • Offers superior heat retention and distribution
  • Features long-lasting porcelain enamel interior and exterior
  • Oven safe up to 482°F
  • Compatible with all cooktops, including glass ceramic, gas, electric, and induction
  • Comes with a 2-year warranty

Aldi has not yet published information about who provides warranty service on the 2025 braiser. Aldi sold a larger 5-quart cast iron braiser in 2019 that had a warranty serviced by Protel, a common Aldi warranty provider. However, I’m not sure if Protel is the warranty provider for the 2025 braiser.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet purchased this braiser, so we don’t know how well it works or how it holds up to regular use. We write open threads to provide readers with a place to discuss Aldi products.

  1. The cast iron braiser is returning to Aldi the week of May 15th, 2024, while supplies last.

  2. Did the Crofton bread oven ever come to Aldi’s in Escanaba MI
I Have repeatedly checked for it or was it missed

  3. I got the last white one (unopened box) at my local store on Dec 2nd. There was only 2 green ones left — they sell out fast and no discount. It was 99% perfect (just a minor, almost unnoticeable spike on the inner curved edge (a light sanding should correct it). The bottom is not perfectly smooth (like a light orange peel texture — typical for low priced enameled cast iron). The lid fit perfectly. Treat it gently (no beating it with hard metal objects, follow proper heating procedures) and it should last. Low price enamel ware tends to stain more easily than Le Creuset. May require cleaning with baking soda and/or hydrogen peroxide.

  4. The instruction pamphlet lists Protel on the warranty card page (for 2026). 2 year warranty. Says you’ll need your original receipt to make a warranty claim.

I bought one with the glass lid for my Mom, and I have green one from a year or two ago with the iron lid, and the lids are interchangeable. Anyway, she used it tonight and burned what she was cooking 🙁

However, using vinegar and water (1:4 ratio) removed it, as suggested in the instruction pamphlet – after letting it sit for 25 minutes with the vinegar solution, the carbon deposits came right off.

These are really nice for reducing sauces, which is mainly what I use mine for.

    1. But , wouldn’t this iron Brajser , be good for making a rice and vegetables meal mix ? With chicken or beef ? Would it be better to have rice pre-soaked , or just let it simmer on low fjr longer , to absorb tbe moisture ? I have stainless very expensive pans/skillets…..but tbey easily burn many things , if njt constantly stirred. Making scrambled eggs in my stainless steel skillets , also frustrating , as the eggs stick quickly to bottom of pan . Regardless that I coat bottom with either coconut oil or virgin olive oil….

Anyone with experi4nce doing eggs in this ironware ?
